Q&A: HTC Tilt 2 with AT&T, were to find Modem Driver ?

I want to use my new HTC Tilt 2 from AT&T, as a Modem for my laptop. The Getting Started Disk wont work because it is not compatible with Vista. I have Vista 32-bit. I need the Modem Driver for it but haven’t had any luck. The ActiveSync wont work but the Windows mobile device center downloaded. but still said i need the driver.

Like you said for Vista Activesync wont work, you will need Windows Mobile Device Administrator

Download the latest version (I reckon you have already done this)

When you connect the phone to the USB there should be a prompt to select Mass Storage, Active Sync or Internet Sharing.

You need to select Internet Sharing.

This prompt may not appear because of the AT&T firmware.

However if you tap start>programs there will be an option for internet sharing. When you open it you can select Bluetooth or USB, either will work. There should not be a need for any driver because it should just add another Network Tie to you Network Relations.

I have never used the AT&T flashed HTC but they might have disabled the function to that users can’t use their phones for tethering. Another option would be to reflash the phone to the original HTC firmware which is significantly better.
