I am trying to choose between 3 mp3 players. Which one should I get?

I want to buy an iPod nano 5g; the 6g looks awful, and there are still a few 5gs in stock. I am skeptical to the sound quality though; I’m one of those people that care about sound quality, and I’m told iPod is pretty bad if you pay attention. I used to have a touch, but I didn’t care about sound quality then xD

The second choice is a Walkman e series. Seems like it would be good in technicalities, but it’s kind of ugly to me and I feel like downloading music to it would kind of be a chore.

The third choice is a Samsung s5, which seems pretty nice but the display seems kind of… I don’t know… silly?

Or is there another mp3 player you like? Decent price, not too flashy, still pretty, and has good sound quality. I don’t like sansas btw. I think they’re pretty ugly.

I would get a zune, but they don’t sell the normal ones anymore. Just expensive hd poo.

I’m no longer looking at expensive touch screens as an option, so please don’t suggest those.

Get the Samsung s5 .. they’re easy to manage. The ipods may look great and are the “in” thing but they get to be too complicated with all itunes mambo-jambo. So, if you’re into the easy of use, get the samsung.

For sound quality, get a Cowon player. They are top of the line for sound.

Or get a Zune. I have a Zune HD and I think it’s awesome. (I bought mine at $ 200 new for 32 GB

Or a Samsung

The only reason I wouldn’t get an iPod is because of iTunes and because they’re nowhere near as good as other media players that are the same price

I’m trying to get a really good tv as far as picture and quality etc at that size range. I’d prefer to have a crisper more colorful picture for the money rather than additional size.

I have looked quite a bit online in the past few days and almost bought a 720p Toshiba for $ 700, but fortunately for me they were temporarily out of stock. I’m guessing that it’s still probably a good TV, but now that I’ve done my research it looks like I want 1080p with 120 compared to the 720p and 60.

I went to bestbuy today and they had a sony KDL40XBR6 that they were reducing to 1400 from 2000. Unfortunately I only had 1100 when I went in at the time. I tried to find the same TV online at a better price, but could not. I then also noticed that cnet didn’t rate that particular XBR series very well. Something about the blacks being amazing but the color being off. So not really sure what I should do here.

Like I said before I’m trying to get the best bang for the buck and also a reputable brand such as pioneer, sony, toshiba, panasonic or samsung? Any suggestions and why are appreciated. If you can give a link as well that would be great!
Oh yeah forgot, as of now I’m doing everything I can to get the additional $ 400 or so I will need to get that one from bestbuy. Currently my max amount is $ 1100, but that will be increasing to a max of $ 1500. So keep that in mind regarding suggestions.
Also keep in mind I will probably play more games on it than I would watch tv/movies. But I do plan on doing that as well, just not as much as gaming. Is plasma or lcd better for one and not the other?

Answer by jf
In $ 1500 you should get a ROCKING set. That’s a great budget for an HDTV. For outright picture quality, go with a Plasma. The only LCD that can even be considered in a showdown with a Plasma is an LED LCD. But look at the prices of those right now. You pay a huge price premium for them. You can get Plasmas like 60% cheaper and still better image quality. So they are the wave of the future for LCD, but they aren’t consumer friendly really.

As for the Plasma, I’d look hardest at the Panasonic lineup. Their high end Plasmas can go toe to toe with the Pioneer Kuros (which are simply the best TVs period, but cost a fortune). If you can find a liquidated last year’s model the TH-42PZ800 is amazing (the TH-42PZ85 is also very strong choice). For this year’s model its the TC-P42G10 that you want to look for. From Panasonic’s site that rates at $ 1,300, so I would figure a store could beat that. That would be one outstanding TV for you.

After the Panasonics you could also look at Samsung Plasmas. They are also solid options. I think its the B450 you want at 42″ and if you go up to 50″ it would be the 650 model you’d want. Though I don’t know the pricing on those, so not sure if the 50″ model maybe goes outside your budget.
