Questions about the HTC Hero for Sprint?!?

Questions about the HTC Hero for Sprint?!?

Next month I will be getting the Hero and I was just wondering…

1) Can I download free ringtones -or- use the ringtones that are already saved to my memory card?
2) On all the pics/videos/reviews I see of the HTC, it always has the same blue background. Is it customizable?
3) Has anyone tried the wifi on it? Does it work excellent?

Thanks in enhancement for your help!
Also, does the camera have a sparkle?

NO FLASH

YOU MIGHT WANT TO WAIT AND GET THE NEXUS ONE. GOOGLE IT. IT’S LIKE THE HERO TO THE 5TH POWER…LOL I HAVE A HERO AND NEXUS ONE KILLS IT. SPRINT WILL HAVE IT IN SEPT. IT’S 3 TIMES FASTER, BIGGER SCREEN AND DUAL FLASH FOR THE CAMERA

I had called the 9:30 Club earlier and could’ve sworn I’d been told SLR cameras were permitted, but perhaps I misheard what may have really been that they were *not* permitted. I hadn’t yet went my new SD4000 into my backup kit… which meant that with my A650 now deceased: I didn’t *have* a backup kit. So my new cameraphone became backup… for better in the sense of preserving memories; for worse in the sense of getting any quality photos.

I have just bought a 16 gig Micro SD card for my Hero because the internal memory is running out with all the apps i’m downloading. But I have noticed that my SD card isn’t loading anything but music…. How do I get the apps to go into the SD card which has space rather than my phones internal memory?

Thank you.
how would I go them? without by a computer?

just go your applications into your memory card.

Support for apps saved to the SD card came about with Android OS 2.2 (Froyo). Sprint isn’t releasing that bring up to date for the Hero; 2.1 (Eclair) is the last authoritative OS bring up to date.

The only way to get it is to root your phone (which voids your warranty) and use a customized ROM that includes the Froyo bring up to date. Try reading http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2010-07/30/froyo-yo-hero

You can only do that by Android 2.2 (Froyo).

Go to Settings -> Manage Applications – > then find the apps you want, tap them. Go “go to SD card”.

Most apps won’t let you do this, as it’s a Froyo only feature and needs to be added to the apps coding (thus try updating as many apps as you can).
