Not every company that Buffet owns makes money, nor does every company he doesnt own lose money. AAPL introdiced the Iphone a while ago and the stock skyrocketed that day about 10 to 15 percent. It was months before they started selling it just at the tech convention unveiling.

His price target — currently the highest on Wall Street for the stock — represents a multiple of only 16 times his earnings forecast for fiscal 2011, he pointed out, excluding Apple’s massive cash hoard, which he says is at the low end of its historical levels.

“We view this multiple as appropriate given Apple’s growth and profit profile,” he wrote.

Several other brokers boosted their price targets on Apple shares following the report. The current median target on the shares is $ 300 — up from $ 285 previously.

“The fact that Apple was able to deliver such significant upside before this year’s significant product introductions/refreshes makes us all the more confident in our positive stance through year-end,” wrote Citi analyst Richard Gardner, who raised his price target from $ 300 to $ 320.

Mike Abramsky of RBC Capital pumped up his target by 27% to $ 350 – the largest raise by a broker following the results.

“While the prior 12 months was all about the entry of iPhone…Apple now faces four large market opportunities (estimated 2B units in total) and strong competitive advantages,” Abramsky wrote, noting that the next run will be driven by growth for the iPhone and iPad and market share gains for Macs.
