Does The HTC Touch™ have some kind of keyguard while the cell phone is active?

While talking on the phone, my ear and cheek seem to press unsystematic touch keys and open different applications. Usually after a call is finished, the start menu is shown or even a game of solitaire is active. Can I preclude this from happening?
