HELP ME with this hardware question?

I plot to upgrade my 19″ monitor to a 24″ 1080p monitor, and I also need a better graphics card, I picked the ATI 5770 ( http://www.ebuyer.com/product/189741 ) for my graphics card to buy, and I’m export a samsung 24″ which is irrelevant to this question, BUT, I reckon I’m gonna need a new PSU, because regular stock PSU’s don’t usually give enough power for a NEW graphics card, I had this PSU in mind

So, will that PSU run the following?

COMPUTER MODEL = Packard Bell – IMedia A2620UK,
AMD Athlon II X3 425 Processor (so that’s a triple core processor!)
3GB DDR2 RAM
A regular DVD drive (if that matters?)
320GB HDD
ATI 5770

I’m gonna be spending about 280-300£ and that PSU seems quite excellent for it’s price, and as it’s the most standard on that website with a 4/5 rating with about 140 reviewers and a low price, I want it.
So, will that PSU be able to run that setup??

it should easily run it, but it’s a terrible PSU, i’ve had no end of problems with budget PSU’s, it’s not really an area you want to skimp on.

this PSU would be much better, more reliable, better warrenty take in, and should run more power efficiently and quieter.

Technically…it will work perfect impeccably with your system. But I don’t know how its quality…

If a 550W will power my HD5850 and AMD Phenom II X4 925, it’ll power yours fine. But, I would get this power supply instead:

Decently because Corsair have a reputation for reliable power supplies. And it’s far better to spend £30 more on a power supply, than £500 when a cheap power supply kills your whole computer.
Also, on the whole, Aria tend to be cheaper than Ebuyer, if you want to save a few quid.

I just upgraded numerous parts in my main computer. I took these surplus parts and assembled a desktop with the intention of promotion them to my dad (for cheap). My Dad isn’t sure if he desires to buy the PC. If he say’s No then I will doubtless sale this desktop. What price do you reckon this desktop should sale for on craigslist.

I don’t have a monitor, speakers, keyboard, or mouse to go with it. I would just be promotion the box.

What do you reckon it’s worth? Low? High? I would be promotion it in a major city

BTW, I have a lot of experience with promotion items on craigslist. Though, any tips are helpful.
You have to remember that the core i7-900 series runs triple channel kits. It’s either 6gb, 9gb, 12gb for the right amout of memory bandwidth. The memory is Gskill brand.

By a core i5-2500k processor and 8gb of memory, you could build the same box for $ 1300

This is worth for about 65%-75% of what you bought it for, at least thats what a tech would by it for.
A regular person would reckon its to much money but dont worry about that. Im not sure how much that all goes for but that is one nice system. 12gb of ram is heavy-handedness though. 8gb is all you need.

The main reason this system is worth export is because its still a newish system, the video card is very excellent, the hard drives are in Raid 0 (be aware that if 1 drive fails you lose all your data) and RAID 0 hard drives run pretty quick. The cooler master V8 lets you overclock the i7 if you ever want to. Its worth about 75% of what they bought it for like i said. More than that then you’d be better off with a new sandy bridge system
i’d buy it for 75% or less.

It’s a really high-tech computer with still cutting edge technology. You should be promotion it to somewhere below new price. A similar computer is this one for $ 1800:

Anyways, yours does have a few more features so I would value the computer new at $ 2000. Since you are promotion on craigslist and people generally pay much less on craigslist I reckon you could sell the thing new for about $ 1300-1600. Other guy seems about right. Hope this helps!
