Is it possible to pair tracfone to unactivated iphone to use the iphone as your cell phone?

I have a tracfone, and I am going to buy an iphone 3gs from a relative. It would be unactivated. Could I link my tracfone to the iphone via bluetooth or someway to use the iphone to call/txt?

Answer by zhukent
yes you can if you place at&t card in there…and you can bluetooth greentooth or rotentooth it to your ancient tracfone….JK no you cant tracfone have certain program on their SIM card so you wont be able to use it unless you have a phone that provided by tracfone only

Answer by Anaam
No, because the Tracfone`s Sim Card is not going to fit. It shaped differently or it too small for the are everywhere the Sim Card goes…….. Right Chiz……. LOL

In addition to everything mentioned about the tracfone and how it has its own programs, the iPhone is permanently locked to the ATT network. Even though it is possible to have the iPhone unlocked, it can void the warranty and produce issues with basically each aspect of the in commission system. ATT did just lower their data plans to everywhere you can pay less for data, but they AREN’T unlimited, so I would be really careful not to go over.

iPhone 4′s Retina Show v.s. iPhone 3G

The Retina Show on iPhone 4 (right) compared with the show on iPhone 3G (left).

I’m not much of a tech-y guy, and I’m getting an iPhone for my birthday. I’ve noticed that iPhone 4 costs triple of the previous version. I look at the difference list but it’s mostly jibrish to me.
Can anyone clarify the differences between the two, and if it’s worth it to get the latter?

Answer by Kodn
Basically, you are not very knowledgeable when it comes to complicated features. I’ll just tell you the basic ones that are most easily unwritten and differentiated between the two.

The screen size is the same, but the 4′s resolution is 4 times larger (640 x 960 pixels) than the 3rd’s (320 x 480 pixels).
The 4 is slimmer than the 3rd, but has some reception issues.
The 4 has a 5 mp camera competent of HD recording, while the 3rd’s camera sucks sooo much it seems unusable for a phone of that price.
The 3rd lacks the enhancement or change in design, in which the 4 was blessed with.
The 4 has a longer battery life.
The 4 has very quick processors. Yes, even quicker than the 3gs’.
The 4 as videocalling, but over wifi only.

That would basically be the difference. See these sites if you want to read their complete reviews.

Personally, I’d rather get a Samsung S8500 Wave, but I reckon the Iphone 4 is too overpriced. The same goes with the 3gs. So, I won’t be getting any of the two, hoho.

Excellent luck with your choosing.

first off no, the iphone 4 doesn’t cost triple any of the other iphones, it is $ 200, all the previous generations of iphones had a starting price of $ 200 as well, now that the 3GS is out dated, it is being sold for $ 99 but it was $ 200 when it first came out.

Lets equate the iPhone 3GS to the iPhone 4:
they both have multitasking
neither have sparkle
both work with 3G network
both take pictures and videos
the iPhone 4 have face time which means there is a camera on the front so you can video chat with other people but only if they have the iPhone 4
the iPhone 4 is a 4G phone so it is quicker, also the 4G network is quicker than 3G, but unless you live in an area that has 4G (East coast, California), then it doesn’t matter
The iPhone 4G takes longer to ship, at least 5 days to ship, you can rush ship the 3GS
The cases/screen protectors/bumpers for the iPhone 4 are harder to find and more expensive
the iPhone 4 is scratch resistent
The iPhone 4 takes HD videos and pictures (could substitute your digital camera if you only use it for basic photography)
The iPhone 4 is newer, so it won’t go obsolete as soon
If you break your iPhone 4 and go to the Apple store they will be more liable to fix it because it’s the newest version and if you have a 3GS they’ll just tell you to buy the new phone (this happened to me)
you will pay at least $ 15+ a month just for a data plot for either

things I wouldn’t consider:
the iphone 4 antenna conundrum isn’t really a conundrum, I tried really hard to get it to drop a call and it didn’t, plus you’re going to place it in a case most liable

the iphone 4 is new and shiny and cool, it’s only $ 100 more and reckon, it could take house of export a new ipod, digital camera, and phone

also, to people who tell you to get a really different smartphone, the iphone has a way better warranty, for free, they’ll replace it if you break it, their customer service is much better so you won’t wait forever for it to be flat, and the iphone takes the house of an ipod as well and syncs easily with your itunes library. Plus it’s super simple to use, my mom couldn’t know her blackberry or her palm but when we got her an iphone she got it straight away, so for someone who’s not too tech savvy, Apple products are the way to go

Assuming you mean the new iPhone 4 and the still current iPhone 3GS, there are a substantial digit of differences between these models in design, show, capability, routine, battery life and more.

For most users, the iPhone 4 is “worth it,” but an independent comparison can be helpful for you to choose whether the lower upfront price of the iPhone 3GS is more vital than the other differences:

Also, keep in mind that most of the cost is not upfront, but is tied to the plot. This can be worthwhile to provide a better thought of the total cost of ownership:

Hope this helps!
