strange couple approaching me in grocery store about unidentified business, scam?

A very friendly couple came up to me in a grocery store and started to talk to me about the sports team on my hat. They asked about my educational background and made more small talk. The man then wanted my info so we could talk about “supplementing my income”. He didn’t give me any details, but I did give him my email address. He sent me an email wanting to meet up and gave me this address for more info…. www.outthinkthebox.com

I’m 95% sure this is a scam or a pyramid scheme. Has anyone had a similar experience to confirm my suspicion?

I did not check out the site, but the way you were approached is just dripping with creepiness. Nice or not, they had no business prying into your personal background on first contact. Be careful.

Sounds like Amway to me which means it is about half scam and half cult…at any rate I would stay as far away as I could…as someone already said very creepy.

As someone in home business/network marketing, (and the video looks very much like a home business/network marketing opportunity) this does not seem so strange or creepy to me. Was the guy in the video part of the couple that approached you? While I do not use this technique to market because I much prefer to have people come to me, I do know many individuals that use this technique (known as PCM or Personal Contact Marketing) to make hundreds of thousands of dollars and more. The point may just be that they are passionate about what they do. When you have a taste of what it is like to take control of your life, seize your dreams again and do what you want when you want, it just gives you the sense that you owe it to others to a least share a new way of thinking with them. It is not for everyone, those of us in this business know that. Robert Kiyosaki says that Network Marketing is the best opportunity for the common person to achieve wealth. If you are open to the idea at all, check it out. Don’t let skepticism keep you from possibly the best opportunity for achieving your goals. I am not suggesting that you jump in blindly but you have nothing to lose and possibly everything to gain from checking it out with an open mind.

As for the Amway comment, Amway continues to be the fastest growing home business opportunity after 20+ years. I am in no way associated with Amway but I do know it is a legitimate company with a decent opportunity if you work your business like an owner. As for the cult thing, yes, it is full of positive people all striving to achieve a goal. Yes, they want you to be successful and talk often about the mindset of success but cult – no. Many network marketing companies get this because most people can’t understand how a group of people can be so happy and so passionate and convicted about achieving results.

My question for you is if you are 95% sure it is a scam, why do you need others to confirm your suspicion? Does the 5% hope that it is real? Perhaps but I am sure the people that approached you don’t care one way or the other what you do. They just wanted to show you an opportunity. You can always find people to confirm suspicion or feed your fear. Conventional wisdom has most of society getting poorer and fatter. Those are the people you wanted advice from? 97% of our culture want more money and time but they are too afraid to do anything so they settle for mediocrity. It doesn’t have to be that way and the couple that approched you know that. More than likely they just wanted to share.

I found some posts online recommending whatever this is and using an ltdteam.com email address.

I’m pretty sure it’s a pyramid scheme after reading “passive income,” “duplicating your efforts,” etc., on the site. Affiliate marketing, maybe, due to the list of big companies they give.
To get into the site, go to jasonangiesmith.ltdteam.com and enter as a guest. Use false contact information and then you can look around the site.

I would simplify the pile a bit. Shrink so you can make a deck easier. Try to limit your deck to 40 cards. Find the specialty or type that u want. Then start creating the deck. It should be easy.
