Why does Zune and Ipod make you use their software to sync music?

I have a Zune and I usually spend about an hour to try to sync music. I also have a samsung MP3 player that is 8 gig, and I can go to my computer and select my device and just drag and drop and it only takes a few seconds to do and its hassle free. I shouldn’t have to spend time figuring out how to sync music and I will probably never by a Zune or Apple again because if it. I just want to drag and drop and that’s it, why are apple and Microsoft the only MP3 players that force you to use their confusing software, what do they care how I get music on their.
My zune is connected and the software says please connect Zune, I’m like what the f*ck, its connected and I even here it when my computer beeps meaning that its connected.

cas apple decided to do that and microsoft just copied apple. we all feel ur pain.

Ever hear of Windows Media Player? Simplest thing in the world. Apple does it because they have a monopoly on their products. They’ve won over the younger generations. The younger generations buy their stuff (let’s think computers). By buying an Apple you have thus sold your soul to them, as you must now buy Apple-only products. Granted, Windows has its share of viruses, and the “Blue Screen of Death”, but at least a large part of its code is open source, and you can change stuff, or create thingsfrom scratch (which is why it’s all free), but with Apple, almost nothing from Windows is compatable. However with Windows, you can use some Apple programs. It’s all a “Get-rich-quick” scheme. Ever wonder why Apple has barred FlashPlayer from all of its OS’s? (iPods included) So that you are forced to purchase their software. QuickTime doesn’t play but half of the content online. It’s a monopoly. Go figure.

I bought a data cable/software kit for my Samsung Sync (SGH-A707) and the options are fine when the phone is not connected, but the second it is connected and recognizes it, the options become gray and unclickable. Any ideas?
I changed the setting on the Connectivity menu to the USB for PC Studio and that doesnt change anything.

i had the same problem u have to go into the phone’s menu and change some option…it might be the USB setting under the phone setting menu
