I wanted to know which phone is better to get for a 16 year ancient. The Touch Diamond or Iphone3g. The prices don’t matter.

I personally dislike the iPhone and prefer HTC for myself but I recommend getting the iPhone 3G. I am going against my own bias on this one because the iPhone is incredibly simple to use. iPhone software was meant to be handled with a flick of the finger, offers large icons and is very sleek and hyped up. Teenagers like the attention it gets.
Both phones have onscreen QWERTY keyboards. Try them both out in-store to see which one is better. Apple’s keyboard is terrible but I am not certain if HTC can beat it (most onscreen keyboards can’t).
The HTC Touch Diamond, despite the tricked out interface added on, is really a Windows Mobile 6.1 phone. This system was designed for business users and people who want predictable PC resources on their phone. If the 16 year ancient is a major computer techie, requires serious PDA functions and MS Outlook compatibility, or really would rather stand out with a less common phone then you may lean just a small towards the HTC.
Otherwise get the iPhone.

well i have heard that the htc toutch looks simple but once you look further in it gets very complicated and frustrating but the iphone 3g dosent have any secrets of that sort. Also the iphone 3g does not charge for gps sevices. They are free. The iphone has no small fiddly keys and has a toutch screen “QWERTY” keyboard which only appears when vital. Free on the $ 40 plot with Optus ($ 50 calls, 100mbs data/month for 24 months) i would say go for the iphone 3G.
What do you reckon? Answer below!
So basically I’ve chose to get one of these two phones, except I’m not sure which to get. Is the difference between The Diamond2 and regular Diamond that fantastic for their price difference to be so high. My friend suggests me to just get the regular Diamond since its a lot cheaper and the also because the Diamond2 specs aren’t that much better.
P.S. HELP! If possible could anyone tell me the CHEAPEST/BEST house to get HTC Touch Diamond2 / HTC Touch Diamond online?
(bidding NOT preferred (ex. ebay))
Answer by Mark M
Well this depends on your preference. The diamond 2 has a larger screen (480×640 vs 480×800) with that said both are just about the same size, by just a few millimeters. The battery life on the Diamond 2 is said to be about 30-35% better. The diamond 2 has a micro sd slot(up to 32GB) diamond has 4GB internal with no expandability. the diamond 2 has a 5 mega pix camera vs the diamonds 3.2 mega pix. as well as others (hardware and software) unless you live outside the united states i don’t see why an unlocked version would be necessary. the diamond has been the united states for nearly a year and the diamond 2 will be here in a couple months or even weeks for much cheaper.(unless you will be running it on EDGE)
I would recommend getting the HTC Touch Diamond 2 rather that meaning waiting a few months for the price to come tumbling down or to the US version.
I now own a Sprint diamond and plot to upgrade to the Diamond 2 when it hits the US.
ALSO do your own research there really a huge difference. Do you reckon that HTC given more than a year for minor upgrades .
