Does an unlocked HTC TOUCH PRO work with rogers?

recently I have been looking for an Htc Touch Pro for my brother. I wanted to know, before export the mobile if it would work with his rogers plot ( with a sim card ) !

If you get the GSM one, and not the CDMA one (CDMA doesn’t take SIM cards, Rogers uses the GSM network) it will work.

I’m not sure how the naming works in Canada, but the GSM HTC Touch Pro is really called the HTC Fuze here in the states. I know canadians who have bought the unlocked Fuze and used it on Rogers. I don’t know if they even offer the CDMA HTC pro in Canada though. So just make sure you’re getting one for GSM networks, and you’ll be set.

The HTC Touch Pro 2 would be from Verizon, but I was told that all TP2′s could take sim cards. At that rate, I really like the thought of unlocking it and by Boost’s $ 50 unlimited plot.

Terrible news. Excellent news.

Terrible news first. Your phone cannot use Boost sim cards. Boost sims only work in Nextel or Boost walkie talkie phones. Your Verizon phone is a dual mode cdma/gsm sim phone. It takes sims, but gsm ones which run on networks like Att/Tmobile/most international. It does not use iden type sims like Boost.

Excellent news. Because your phone is a unique, one of a few dual mode you have twice as many unlimited choices as most cdma only, gsm only or iden only phone owners.

You can go to Page Plus Cellular which runs on Verizon prepaid with different customer service and different brand name. They will allow any Verizon phone on their network. They have an unlimited talk/text/20 meg web plot. But if you have wifi, you can get all the free web you want from hotspots.

Their customer service can be hard to reach because they have been so busy after they started the unlimited plot in Dignified.
Be patient.

If you want a sim card network, Att has just launched its groundbreaking new unlimited talk/text/pic/video/im/intl text plot for $ 60 a month on Gophone. Web is extra.

Or try Simple Mobile which is launching at www.mysimplemobile.com
They run off of Tmobile like how Page Plus runs off of Verizon . They have unlimited talk/text/intl text/40 megs web for $ 55.

Or wait till T-mobile launches its new unlimited Flexpay (prepaid ) plans for unlimited talk/text/web on Sunday, October 25. They are supposed to have the buck unlimited prices in thier description.

If you have your Touch Pro 2 unlocked, you will have a LOT of unlimited choices. And it does not have to be Boost mobile.
