No, the Hero is CDMA only.

There are any number of Android devices comparable to the Hero available for T-Mobile, though.

Also, the new “standard to beat” phone, the “Nexus One” made for Google, using Google’s specs and design will be available some time in January, maybe as early as the 5th, if rumors are right. This phone will be the “hardware to beat” when it’s unrestricted to the general public, pretty much blowing any additional phone on the planet away. It is running the newest version of Android (2.1). The phone has already been unrestricted to thousands of Google employees to test about 2 weeks ago.

the only way you are going to ‘listen in’ on any cell phone call is if the person is with you and has the phone on speaker phone. You cannot just hack in and listen. this is a security measure to help protect against stalkers etc.
