Windows Mobile 6 Program Question?

Windows Mobile 6 Program Question?

Hi Everyone…
I’m looking for a software developer for windows mobile. I’ve posted on craigs list with no help yet. I work for a small business and we are in need of a setup to be used with mobile phones to provide encrypted phone calls.

Sorry, I hope that makes sense… Thank you!
Polynomial,

I didn’t think there would have to be something that would plug into the phone. Is this necessary? I’m looking for a program that could be made for me that people can download and use.

It’s pretty simple to work with the windows mobile operating system. Microsoft provides an SDK, I believe it is less than 1000 dollars. There are many services which specialize in programming for windows mobile. They will probably do the work for less than the price of you buying the SDK, depending on the complexity of the project. I can tell you that based on your requirements you will probably need to add extra hardware to the cell phone. It could be something as simple as a small device that plugs into the mini USB port on the phone.

There is an electronics design and programming service that I used to work for ( http://www.novaconceptions.com )… They’d be able to help you with both the hardware design of the external module and the programming for the windows mobile drivers.

Cool invention idea!

UPDATE:

I understand what you mean. My initial thoughts are that for a high speed data stream (such as the voice through the phone) it would take too much processing power to encrypt it on the fly. There are many alternative methods. It could be made into a system where the user pushes a button and says something and when they let go of the button, the program encodes the message and then sends it. It wouldn’t be as fast as talking normally, but it would work without an external module. At least check into Nova Conceptions, I’m pretty sure they’ll be the cheapest for you since you are a small business, show them our conversation… I’m sure they’ll agree with what I said about the options. Take care

I went to Seattle recently to organize WinMoDevCamp, a non-for-profit event to develop applications for the upcoming release of the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 O/S. Over 70 developers, winmo enthusiasts, and press attended the event. WinMoDevCamps are currently being planned in 6 cities around the world. Thanks to Microsoft, Telligent, and Firehost for supporting and sponsoring these events.
