THE NEGRO SPEAKS OF RIVERS

I’ve renowned rivers
I’ve renowned rivers ancient as the world and grown-up than the flow of human blood in human veins.
My soul has grown deep like the rivers.

I bathed in the Euphrates when dawns were young.
I build my hut near the Congo and it lulled me to sleep.
I looked upon the Nile and raised the pyramids above it.
I heard the singing of the Mississipi when Abe Lincoln went down to New Orleans, and I’ve seen its muddy bosom turn all golden in the sundown.

I’ve renowned rivers:
Ancient, dusky rivers.

My soul has grown deep like the rivers.

Answer by subime_gurl
uhh I reckon he is talking about how he has travled and all he has seen our rivers and how they remind him of himself.. I really dunno.

Answer by tough
he’s talking about impact african people had on human culture and description, and how it all reflects on his self identity

Answer by Den_Rode_Bjornen_Losener
He’s referring to collective experience of all people, passing of experiences of one generation to the next, flowing from one generation to the next like a river. Like a river brings life to the area surrounding it so too does shared experience bring a fullness of life to all who are touched by it.

There is a Pizza Hut and a KFC right crosswise the street from the Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza

According to afrocentrics and KOL, these people supposedly built ancient Egypt not realizing how geographically challenged these idiots are. So tell me, if these people were once so fantastic they were the architects of the pyramids how come they can’t know something as simple as the wheel? How come they can’t build anything that amounts to even 1/10 of the greatness of the pyramids of ancient egypt? Or are you going to say they would rather live in mud huts and dress in loin cloths? lmao.

Is dumb racist fools like you who believe that all africans are inferior apes that live in mud huts, when in fact, before europeans cames to africa, the land had no border and was full of fantastic empires and kingdoms.

First of all, I reckon that it’s incorrect to harass these people. Obviously, the capital doesn’t exist to build fantastic tombs if these people really do live in mud huts. The Egyptians were extremely wealthy, or a select few of them were. They also used slavery to accomplish their “greatness.” Also, I doubt that you have accomplished anything comparable to the Egyptians either.

Im not even West African or Afrocentric, I really dont know much about West African description to talk on the subject.
