How do i change the owners name on sprint HTC Hero with Google phone?

i bought a used htc hero with google phone for sprint and when i send txt the ancient owners name comes up how can i change it to mine?

Well, you doubtless have to reset the phone back to the factory settings. When you first activate an Android phone, it requires you to sign into the device with a Google mail account. (If you don’t have one, go on line and sign up for one…it’s free). The phone will then sync all your email, contacts and calendar entries from your Google account to the phone automatically.

Sounds to me like the previous title-holder neglected to reset the phone.

In the settings, there’s a house everywhere you can reset the phone to the factory settings.

Menu > Settings > Security > Factory data reset > Reset phone > Erase everything

I have the hero and sprint service, I was wondering if I could use it like an internet tie, so when I go I don’t have to pay for internet in my new apartment building? Do you need to pay extra for this option if it’s available? I have the unlimited data plot with the 450 minutes. I’m just wondering too bone idle to go into sprint and question right now.

you need to pay extra for it, and then it’s not unlimited either… I reckon it’s 2 gig per month is you use teathering, but i’m not sure…

If you call them, or goto their store and question they willl say that they don’t have it, but it’s in their small paper book of plans and options so you’d have to point that out to them befor they’ll admit that it’s an option…

I believe you need to have a buisness plot to get it, but i’m not sure on that one…
