Q&A: Sprints Android Phones. Which to get...Hmmmm.....Hero vs HTC. Price, specs, size, etc...?

I’m plotting on getting a phone relevantly soon….and my carrier is Sprint, and I certainly wanna android based phone, I’m a computer geek kinda guy and i wanna have the most processing power, so obviously the EVO seems like the natural option right?

Well they’re really sold out and they’ll be sold out for a while. They MAY get a shipment in on the 16th, but that’s a possibly. Also my largest dread with it, is its size. It’s literally a mammoth piece of hardware, im not sure if it’ll fit comfortably in my pocket.

So I was thinking a Hero, has nearly the same processor, better on the “portability” aspect. It also will run the same version of android 2.1 and eventually 2.2, the fact that its available AND cheaper makes a BIG difference. Like price is one of the most vital factors.

Yet i was also looking, they have Android phones with QWERTY keyboards, which i do like a lot too there….

just so many choices. and i was wondering if i could get some feed back back from people who have owned, used, reviewed and had time with the phones to give me back feed back.

thanks in enhancement.

then i thought,

Get NONE of the above!!!

The new Epic 4G handset is getting ready to launch and it is SUPER sweet!!!! It’s processor will blow the other phones out of the water! It’s quick, it’s got a Super AMOLED screen that looks nearly like you are watching an HD TV! That lonely makes it awesome.. All the features that this phone has is brilliant. It also has something called Media Hub by Samsung, which will let you buy and rent movies from the phone or download TV shows… I reckon Media Hub is launching right after the phone is unrestricted (that’s the rumor) but, it is already installed on the handset.

Check it out here:

or for more info and a review for it… check out here:

I highly recommend waiting for this one… it’s coming out this month per the rumor mill…
You might end up kicking yourself if you don’t :)

Does anyone know of any websites promotion Sprints HTC EVO android phone with a 2 yr upgrade? Im due for my upgrade and want an evo, not the evo shift. I’d like to get it for closer to $ 100 than $ 150. I have been watching walmart, wirefly, radioshack, and of course sprints website, just seeing if anyone knows of other sites with excellent prices. thanks

These are excellent seats to watch, with excellent prices, service and return policies. Sprint is just not discounting the EVO due to continued supply issues, and it appears the buck prices were back on Cyber Monday. If you have a membership, DirectBuy will doubtless have the buck price, but the membership is expensive. If you have your heart set on the EVO, I would order now because they could get even more scarce.

Your best deal these days might be from export through one of Wirefly’s affiliate membership programs and getting additional perks like cash back. Bank of America Add It Up, you can get $ 50 cash back with any phone buy at Wirefly. They also have cash back programs with EBates and Fatwallet. If you follow them on Facebook, sometimes they have 24-hour coupon for a specific device, and they’ve done the EVO before, but you can’t combine that with the cash back programs.

You could also watch Dell and Newegg.com for sales.

I’ve shopped with Wirefly before and have never had an issue with them. They also have coupons on their Facebook page that will get you a free 4GB memory card which would give you more value. Evo is a fantastic phone by the way! I like mine the screen is the perfect size. the only question you have to question yourself now is if you want in White or in Black?

I would have to cosign on the Wirefly as well. I bought my Evo the latter part of last year for 149.00 from Wirefly with a 2 yr upgrade. My wife just got her Evo from Wirefly for 179.00. In my searching it was the best price you are going to find and you don’t have to worry about the mail in rebates (that you would have to deal with with Sprint and Radio Lean-to) and all that stuff.
