Can I get Internet on Verizon Wireless phone without paying for a data plan?
I want a phone that can get wi-fi internet.. I was looking at the HTC Ozone.. went to the store, and after over an hour of coming up, the guy said I would need to pay the an additional $ 30/month for the PDA plot, regardless of whether or not I plotted on using the Verizon 3G WAN. Anyone know if its possible to get around this? Maybe purchasing from a third-party vendor? I’m just bummed that I left empty handed
I’m also thinking they CAN do it but they are not supposed to.. maybe if I load up on accessories before I get to the counter? That might convince him, lol
Some sites are saying the Samsung i760 would work, anyone know if this is right?

No you can not get around it. I have tried. I still am trying. I simply just found the cheapest / best plot that fits my needs and I will be using that one. Unless you just want a normal cell phone instead of a PDA, there is no way. Sorry
Hope this helps!

Verizon and AT&T both require data plans with smartphones. Consider a more basic phone and an iTouch for wifi.

All of Verizon Wireless Blackberrys or PDAs must have the $ 29.99 feature on them. Only some of the older phones like the i760 does not require it. There is no way to not have a data on the phones. And sorry but there is not ways around it. These phones are ment to have internet and email so why would you not use it?!
What do you reckon? Answer below!
I’m getting an iPhone 4 32gb on contract on 3 Mobile. 2000 minutes, boundless texts & boundless internet: £35 a month.
I was just wondering what everyone else thinks about the iPhone 4? Please don’t tell me “get an android or htc or nokia” or something because I only like Apple’s touchscreen interface and OS, plus, the games are very addictive.
I won’t really be using the iPhone for calling. Pretty much just texting, internet browsing and as a media player. It’s exactly what I need!
But I want to know your opinion. I’m not an Apple fanboy. Granted, I’ve bought an iPod Touch and nothing more. I don’t buy everything they sell or defend their crappy under-the theater computers or overpriced accessories.

Theres just way too much hype over a phone with an apple logo on it. Theres plenty of additional phones with the same capabilities if not even more. The iphone buyers are simply stupid for buying something that everyone else is getting. Just get another phone that that stupid crap made in china. I haven’t even started on the self destruct and unlocking programmings of the iphone

I like my iPhone 4. It does have some issues, but far fewer than some public I know with Droid phones. The largest let down to me is that internet based media that uses Flash is inaccessible. But for texting, directions, internet access in general, and even telephone calls; I’d say it works pretty well. There are times though that it drives me insane. Some apps seem to freeze for no reason and it requires me to shut it down and power it back up.

Android all the way-Even jail broken the iphone is still so limited
-Customize the phone how you want-such as live wallpapers, back grounds
-Expandable memory
–removable battery
-More choices for features and phones and prices-you can go cheap or high end-High end phones such as the Nexus 1- all teflon coated metal construstion
-Better processors out thats better than the iphone
-No bluetooth transfers on the iphone with out life jail broken
–Free google nav
-Widgets
you can “facetime” aka record call over 3g not like the iphone having to be in a wifi spot for it to work
-I can hold my phone any way i want
-Also Apple is behind on market share…..Android has beat out iOS
-OTA updates..no looking for a small white cord and itunes
-No standard usb connection
-No flash support
-not tied to itunes like a dog to a tree
Oh and Steve jobs don’t tell you what to do with HIS $ 800 iphone.

It’s a fantastic phone but it’s 7 months ancient. The next iPhone will be out in June in the US – July for you. I reckon I’d wait for it.
