Water damaged phone. Verizon HELP?

Water damaged phone. Verizon HELP?

So my bf and i are on a shared plot. We both have the same phone (HTC droid eris)

Today at work water spilled on him while his phone was in his pocket….and now its really fried. The water hurt sticker is only half red though…

I didnt get the insurance on it because I despise dealing with it but now Im kicking for myself.

we have only had the plot for 4 months. Would they be able to give me my upgrade early?

What are my options here because he NEEDS a phone for his job. (truck driver)

and i jsut screwed and have to pay the full retail price for a new phone?

advice please!
we have tried letting the phone dry…..this happened early today….

Answer by pjd
try putting the phone in a bowl of uncooked rice and see if it works after that.

Answer by Samii
Take the battery from the phone and place it open in the back to dry and the battery off to the side.
I would set it in a bag of not cooked rice.. the rice will take in the water.

Answer by Techsupportgirl
Never try to turn it on straight away. Take the battery out. Place the battery and phone in a bag of dry rice. Place it for approx 3 days before trying it. If this doesn’t work, your options (without insurance) are as follows:

1. Full price
2. Certified pre-owned phone, call customer service for details(not cheap, but better than full price)
3. Activate an ancient phone or one from a friend/family member/ebay/etc

You will not be able to upgrade until you hit at least 1 year of your 2 year contract.

Hope this is helpful. Excellent luck :)

Answer by Nathan
Whoever the primary line is, can upgrade once 12 months have passed since you guys got the phones.. Until then, you can use an ancient phone, pay full retail for another one, or buy a used phone thats in like-new condition from Verizon.. An Eris would be $ 170 through that program..

This is the end
Gorgeous friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I’ll never look into your eyes…again

Can you picture what will be
So limitless and free
Desperately in need…of some…weirder’s hand
In a…desperate land

Lost in a Roman…wilderness of pain
And all the children are insane
All the children are insane
Coming up for the summer rain, yeah

There’s danger on the edge of town
Ride the King’s highway, baby
Eerie scenes inside the gold mine
Ride the highway west, baby

Ride the meander, ride the meander
To the lake, the ancient lake, baby
The meander is long, seven miles
Ride the meander…he’s ancient, and his skin is cold

The west is the best
The west is the best
Get here, and we’ll do the rest

The blue bus is callin’ us
The blue bus is callin’ us
Driver, where you taken’ us

The killer awoke before dawn, he place his boots on
He took a face from the ancient gallery
And he walked on down the hall
He went into the room where his sister lived, and…then he
Paid a visit to his brother, and then he
He walked on down the hall, and
And he came to a door…and he looked inside
Father, yes son, I want to kill you
Mother…I want to……………….

C’mon baby, take a chance with us
C’mon baby, take a chance with us
C’mon baby, take a chance with us
And meet me at the back of the blue bus
Doin’ a blue rock
On a blue bus
Doin’ a blue rock
C’mon, yeah

Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill

This is the end
Gorgeous friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

It hurts to set you free
But you’ll never follow me
The end of laughter and soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die

This is the end

I just got an HTC Inspire and I wanted to compile the vanilla (unedited) version of Android from Google and place it on my phone. I already went through the process of downloading the Android 2.3 source code onto my computer (running Ubuntu).

Does the vanilla version of Android comes with open source drivers like additional linux based operating systems?
I’m not asking about the drivers for Windows.

I’m wanting to know if Android comes with open source drivers for its hardware (touchscreen, etc)?

Firstly download the file Android USB driver for Windows and unzip to your computer. Go enable debugging on your phone. (Settings->Applications->Development->USB debugging).
Unplug all removable devices(thumb drive, sdcards, etc) beside the Android phone.
Locate “Device Administrator”, usually under “control panel”
Select “Universal Serial Bus Controllers”
Select USB Mass Storage Device.
Note: to check if you have the assess device, click on the details tab and select “compatible ids” under properties. There should be three items listed under value.
Select uninstall driver
Close the window. Now in device manager a new “Android Phone USB device” with a yellow! will appear. If not, Unplug your android device or select Action -> Scan.
Note: view optional steps below if you still have conundrum with the your windows automatically installing drivers.
Click on the “Android Phone USB device”
Select “browse my computer to driver software”
Under “search this location for driver”, Browse for the location that you have unzip the android_usb_windows and select the corresponding folder for your system(AMD64 for 64bit systems or x86 for 32bit systems. Right click -> properties on “My Computer” to check which system you have)

No, not really.

The Ti chips are better than the additional chip available on this account. The two main problems are memory management, openGL, and DRM. The memory space is shared thus really intricate to manage, the graphics part isn’t opened up for dread of patent issues, and the manufacturers like to stick innumerable DRM schemes of the devices.
