Q&A: Will The Sprint HTC EVO 4G Price be More Than 350?

Im Asking Because I Havent Upgraded Yet and I Have My 150$ Upgrade

No one knows for sure what the price is, but that said the average price for a smartphone these days is around 500 without a two year contract. If you are renewing your contract or are a new Sprint customer you can expect to pay around the 300 up front with a 100 mail-in rebate. But, by no earnings take what I am saying for fact! I am just stating what the past price range for a phone like this is.

I just read that the EVO would be as high as $ 5,555. I don’t really judge it will be anywhere near that high, but thats what I read.

So I am plotting to get the Motorola Droid or the HTC Droid ERIS at Retail Price since my contract is not over yet. I was wondering if I can get the phone without needing to buy a plot. And if I do get to hold it, when can my phone do before it is activated?

Hey Ryan, excellent choice by looking at the Droid but if I was you I wouldn’t get a phone at a store because you are going to pay 3-4 times as much since the phone company has to pay commissions to the employees.

Do this and find some free phones:

1. Go to Blastoff (link below)
2. Get a free account (kind of like Facebook)
3. Compare all the free phones on the site

you can buy the phone outright very expensive yu will then question in the store or call customer service to switch everything to your new phone so you can use it

Yes, you can get the phone at retail, you might be able to save a small money getting it from some place like bestbuy or amazon. Check pricing.

As to what you can do with it without activating it, not very much.

Until it is activated and you sign in to your gmail account (you will need one just to use the phone, market etc.) there is very, very small that you will be able to do with it. You will not be able to download programs from the market, or even browse the market with the phone.

To activate the phone, Verizon will require you to get the boundless data plot for $ 30/month in addition to whatever small plot you are currently using. If you currently have a “data plot” with a “feature phone” that is not costing $ 30/month, you will be able to drop that cheaper data plot, so your bill may not increase a full $ 30/month.
