Windows Mobile 6.1 for Tornado (i-mate SP5)?

Windows Mobile 6.1 for Tornado (i-mate SP5)?

Well, I’m new to this kind of business. I just bought an i-mate with Windows Mobile 5 Standard for Smartphones off trade me, and I want to upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard. I’ve already visited the i-mate website, but there are no available softwares or upgrades for this device. Google search says that this phone is produced by HTC and similar to Qtek 8310 and O2 XDA Orion, coded “Tornado”.

I have search the software using persons words from above, and found something like “Cooked ROM” or some of that kitchen stuff. Some public on the internet says that XDA developers produce non-official operating systems (like Sony PSP’s firmware version from the first to the M33 thingy), but where can I get the full upgrade of Windows Mobile 6.1?

The place u came from ( xda-dev ) is the best resource to flash ur device to a new Operating System . Check the Glossary here to check the meaning of some of the jargons u might find at xda-dev : http://www.1800pocketpc.com/glossary

Things to keep in mind : Read through the device specific forum and wiki to check what are the steps to do to perform a rather safe flash.

this might be a excellent starting point : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=324557

NEVER FLASH YOUR DEVICE WITH A ROM THATS NOT MEANT FOR YOUR DEVICE

register @ xda-dev and question a few questions around if u have some doubts in flashing even after reading through persons threads

I have a TyTn so i cant advise u more on Tornado, goodluck

I’m in the process of switching from using Microsoft Windows and I’m headed to Apple land… We have replaced our over four year ancient HP nc8320 mainframe, and will be replacing our desktop in the coming months (coming up for Apple to update the Mac Pro).

I’ve used Microsoft product since MS-DOS 3.3, and have been a career IT person for over fifteen years (mostly as a ma?tre d’h?tel systems engineer designing mostly Microsoft systems), and while I will continue to keep up on MSFT stuff and continue to use them for the technology side of my work life, at home… I’m pretty much finished with Microsoft. While OS-X has some issues, it’s a far nicer system to use (all the power of UNIX with the best UI I’ve ever seen) especially if you want to do photo or record control.

Gear in the Frame:
Apple 15" MacBook Pro
Core i5 2.4Ghz. CPU (not worth spending the $ $ on the Core i7, especially when this won’t be my primary control machine and especially when 0 only buys me 10% more performance)
4GB of RAM (going to 8GB pretty quick)
500GB 7200RPM Segate Momentus XT Hard Drive (this is a fantastic drive that comes with a 4GB SSD cache)
High Res Screen (but not the Anti-Glare screen, clients like looking at images on the glossy screen)

G-Tech G Drive mini 500GB Hard Drive
Wacom Intuos 3 4" x 6" Tablet
Gretagmacbeth Eye-One Show 2 Colorimeter
Calumet UDMA Firewire CF Reader
Apple Magic Mouse
Garmin eTrex Summit HC

Software:
OS-X 10.6.4
Windows 7 Ultimate (running inside of VMWare Fusion)
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom
Adobe CS5 Design Extended
RoboGeo (Run under Windows 7 for geotagging)

looking for a website that will let me download software for my tmobile dash such as windows mobile 6.1, games, etc.
