Is the HTC Touch Diamond compatible with skyfire?

if its not then is there some way to hack it to work? by the way im not talking about the diamond pro, just the plain diamond.

I currently have a Palm Centro and I LOVE IT but I have the opportunity to upgrade to a Diamond for a really excellent price. Any advice or comments? I like the Palm OS. Have never used WM.

wow…two completely different smartphones in many aspects… palm os is a much “simpler” os than winmo. its like comparing a sedan to a sports car… the palm runs nice and smooth…but its no motivating force os (sedan)… winmo is very tweakable and has lots of apps…but the ride is rough with menus upon menus and submenus… (sports car). HTC who makes the Diamond tries to cover up windows quirkiness with the new touchflo3D and does a pretty excellent job…but its still winmo bottom. if you do upgrade one business you will sorely miss is your hard qwerty keyboard… touchscreen keyboards dont come close to the speed and feel of a qwerty button keyboard. but you do have the option of the Touch Pro…which is basically the Diamond with a slideout qwerty keyboard. also you will have to learn the in-and-outs of a whole new OS… its kinda like windows for pc…but reasonably different in certain ways…i would say go to the store and play around with the diamond…or touch pro…. to see if you like it. if you initially like it question about the restore policy. i know with sprint you have at least 15 days to get a full refund if you dont like the phone.

There is really no comparison between the Centro and HTC Touch Diamond. They are two very different phones with a very different operating system for two very different audiences.

If you like to customize and nip your phones, and do a lot of PC like functions on the phone, you’ll find the HTC Diamond Touch to be a fantastic phone which should carry over the best features of a Palm OS device to a WM device. You’ll get a responsive touch screen interface which you can nip to your content, access to a seemingly endless library of applications, and a fabulous form business.

There’s a couple catches, though. As you nip and customize your WM device it will inevitably become more unstable over time, resulting in a need to reset (sometimes a hard reset). Also, battery life on WM devices tends to be poor; I’ve found with WM devices I can’t get through the day even if the phone was fully charged and I didn’t use it for calls or web surfing.

Another couple thoughts which may influence your choice: 1. The HTC slider smartphones are spring loaded. If you are a moderate to heavy user of your phone, you may find the build quality to lead to problems over time (phone apt “baggy” as the springs become less stiff). 2. The HTC Touch Diamond has a gorgeous large screen. It’s better suited to multimedia if that’s your business…record, music, pictures, all look incredible on the Touch Diamond. 3. The touch screen on the HTC device is simple to use without a stylus; I can’t say the same of the Centro or additional Palm devices I’ve used in the past.
