Visit the seven wonders of the world in one trip! What do you think?
Hello All!
I am student at the University of Central Florida working on a group project for an Entertainment Marketing class. We have decided to create and market a *one time trip to the New Seven Wonders of the World by jet. As of 7.07.07 they are The Great Wall of China, Petra in Jordan, Brazil’s statue of Christ the Redeemer Peru’s Machu Picchu, Mexico’s Chichen Itza pyramid , The Colosseum in Rome, and India’s Taj Maha. This one time trip would be partnering with an international airline. The trip would be themed for each wonder and include a chef on board who would prepare meals for each wonder (ex:Chinese cuisine for the Great Wall of China), an educational and language informative teaching for each wonder, five star hotel stay, and guided tours and excursions. Keep in mind that this trip would be pricey and targeting only those who take extravagant trips often.
I was just looking for some feedback and any suggestions or request you would like to see if you were to go on the trip. Or would you even want to?
Keep in mind this is not real and that it is for a class…. but I’d love to hear what you think!
THANK YOU!

not real?? oh, too bad. it would be awesome.
however, the fact that it would be over the top expensive brought 2 main points to my mind.
#1) Something so wonderful, should be made available to more people, more affordable. Something that most people could save up for. I am middle class and I travel often. I hate cheap, so I save up and I am always on the look out for a “good deal”. I don’t stay in nasty hotels, nor I fly with unknown airlines.
#2) As a marketing strategy (and I’m no expert, but maybe something for your group to think about), if it’s so extravagant, over the top expensive,
How many people you think could really afford this? you’d be targeting a very very small market.
Of those who could afford it, how many would have the time to spend on this trip?? Many of these super billionaire people, have limited time, and this trip sounds long.
If your group lowers the price, makes it more affordable, you would be targeting a much larger market, thus, profiting more, due to the increased volume in sales.
Hope this helps,
I personally, couldn’t afford your trip as is right now, but if it would be more affordable (say, upper middle class) i would most definitely do it.
“People these days don’t so much care about “seeing” these wonders. Anyone can do that. They want to experience the local flavors and life in the places they visit. They’re after a genuine experience, not a disneyland ride.”
I most certainly disagree with this quote from another answer, they are called the 7 wonders for a reason.
i think it’s a bit insulting to call these wonders “Disneyland rides”. People from these countries are proud of these landmarks.
I personally would love to see the great wall of china, the Colosseum in Rome, the Taj Majal .
please be kinder to these people (including my self, as i’m italian) and don’t insult them by belittling their landmarks.

Sounds excessive.

I’d say your market is rather limited for this.
Most of the people who would be interested in this kind of extensive travel wouldn’t want to pay a ton of money for it and those that would pay a ton of money wouldn’t want to put themselves through all of the stress of all that travel and the time changes and all the rest.
Plus there are the risks of someone getting sick in India or Mexico or getting pick pocketed in Rome and losing their passport.
They way I see it, people are paying a lot of money for a lot of stress in a program that doesn’t account for any problems along the way.

What you’re offering seems like a great idea, but for the travelers you’d want to attract it would seem like a huge hassle for the money and without much reward.
Instead, I’d think about offering seven separate trips, each trip goes to a different location, the chef on board would be a specialist in that specific kind of food, and the stress levels go waaay down. You’d attract a lot more people that way because they could pick and choose which trips they went on. Most of the people who would be interested in this kind of thing have probably seen more than one of those wonders before, therefore they would be reluctant to go on a trip that visits all of them.
