Why are vegetarians / vegans mean to people who are NOT vegetarians / vegans.?

Why are vegetarians / vegans mean to people who are NOT vegetarians / vegans.?

First of all, I understand this is a generalization. I KNOW not all vegetarians are mean. Some of my friends are vegans, some of my family members are vegans.

Well, I also wonder why people are mean to vegetarians. It is like a huge attack thing “RAR IF YOU DON’T EAT LIKE ME YOU SHOULD BE DEAD RAAR”

THE ACTUAL QUESTION

Are you a vegetarian, vegan, omnivore, etc. / Do you feel aggressive towards people whose diet is opposite of yours and why / and What do you think of Vegetarian / Vegan vs. Omnivore lifestyles?

Here are my thoughts…

People can have whatever diets they want. It is their choice.

A vegetarian who tries to get an omnivore to be a vegetarian is just as bad as an omnivore who tries to get a vegetarian to be an omnivore.

I do not think it is healthier to not eat meat. I think cutting down on meat is healther, but cutting it out is not. Protein has vitamins and minerals that we can’t get in sufficient amounts from plants. Meat is on the food pyramid for a reason, cutting it out is not healthy.

I have been in the past, but am not really bugged by the fact that meat comes from living things. Here is the deal: EVERYTHING we eat was once alive. I don’t mean to offend vegans or vegetarians with this…but I think that the only reason they feel that meat is murder is because the animals are so cute and fuzzy…and plants are not. I mean…I guess I can understand that animals feel pain or whatever…but studies have shown that plants do too. : /

Overall…if the animal has been raised and killed through humane methods, I don’t really think it is terrible.

One last point: To the “Humans are not SUPPOSED to eat meat”…well, that is just bull. We have canine teeth and our eyes are on the front of our heads (Herbivores usually have their eyes on the sides of their heads so they can see attackers coming. Carnivores have them on the front so they can focus in on their targets).
Wow, a lot of answers so far.

Bookish – I said right off the bat that it was a generalization. And it is a bit of a rant, because I’ve been thinking about it. Trying to procrastinate and all.

Just cause each one is mad at the others beliefs and tends to be mad at them.

Whenever there’s a question that starts “why are (fill in name of group here) so (fill in adjective here),” it bugs me, because if there’s a large group of people, they are not all going to act the same.
You seem to have some issues. This is more of a rant than a question.
Edit: Well, Moose, when you work this all out, let us know. Meanwhile, save your rants for a more appropriate place. Be a vegetarian, don’t be a vegetarian: it’s up to you.

For the same reason an ex smoker is mean to people that continue to smoke. They might miss the experience of smoking, they might be one of those people that are sure that smoking will kill you and think by insulting you, you will quit. Who knows why people do what they do? They certainly baffle me all the time.

Interesting link: Great Pyramid of Giza on Wikipedia

I am student at the University of Central Florida working on a group project for an Entertainment Marketing class. We have decided to create and market a *one time trip to the New Seven Wonders of the World by jet. As of 7.07.07 they are The Great Wall of China, Petra in Jordan, Brazil’s statue of Christ the Redeemer Peru’s Machu Picchu, Mexico’s Chichen Itza pyramid , The Colosseum in Rome, and India’s Taj Maha. This one time trip would be partnering with an international airline. The trip would be themed for each wonder and include a chef on board who would prepare meals for each wonder (ex:Chinese cuisine for the Great Wall of China), an educational and language informative teaching for each wonder, five star hotel stay, and guided tours and excursions. Keep in mind that this trip would be pricey and targeting only those who take extravagant trips often.

I was just looking for some feedback and any suggestions or request you would like to see if you were to go on the trip. Or would you even want to?

Keep in mind this is not real and that it is for a class…. but I’d love to hear what you think! :)

THANK YOU!

Dude, if i had the money and the time, then I would DEFINATELY do it!!! I would be all for it mate! Seriously, the 7 wonders of the world in one trip?! My wish came true ;p
haha and the themed meals and stuff is a brilliant idea :D it would get you trying out new things~
and the 5 star hotel stay doesnt sound bad… ;p
but what about the pyramids in egypt? the sphinx?
or the grand canyon or something~~
but yeah, good idea :D

Answer by BigSis
It’s a good idea, I like it.

I think you could also have the accommodation as being in some kind of traditional house or hotel instead of everyone just ending up staying in the local Hilton or Intercontinental.

There could also be theme nights in every destination where everyone gets dressed up in traditional clothes and enjoys the food, music and entertainment from that particular country.

Bay Area soroptimist tackles prostitution myths
When it comes to prostitution — in Vallejo and beyond — there are certain facts that everyone ‘just knows.’ Like that prostitution is the world’s oldest profession, or that legalization improves prostitutes’ lives and keeps the issue under control. Or that nothing can be done about it.
