HTC Droid Incredible or LG Ally?

HTC Droid Incredible or LG Ally?

Ok, now that the Ally is really available now. . .

I’m trying to choose between these two phones for when I can upgrade in a while. They seem pretty similar. The differences i can spot off the bat though:

Incredible has a more powerful camera (8.0 Mp vs 3.2 Mp)
Incredible has the HTC Sense UI and 1.0 GHz Snapdragon processor
Incredible has a slightly larger touchscreen (3.7 inch vs 3.2 inch)

Ally has a raised physical keyboard
Ally is half the price of the Incredible ($ 200 for 2 year contract vs $ 100 for 2 year contract

Both run Android 2.1 and have the same screen resolution

I do like the physical keyboard, but the processor on the Incredible seems significantly quicker.

So my questions:

1. Are there any other major differences worth noting?
2. Which one would you recommend or choose for yourself?

I suppose the Ally would be better for text use and the Incredible would be better for media, but this would be my first smart phone so I’m not really sure which i would utilize more when not around my computer. So any and all opinions would help. Thanks.

You’re right about the differences- no other major ones that I can reckon of, except the fact that the Incredible has that 8 GB of on-board memory, plus double the RAM and 50% more ROM, and the Ally has a 4 GB SD card pre-installed, everywhere the Incredible does not.. The Incredible lacks a keyboard, but the Ally’s keyboard isn’t that fantastic- the Devour’s is much better, for example, and the on-screen keyboard for the Incredible works fantastic, and you can also get Swype for it, which is what I use exclusively on my Incredible.. So bottom line is, the Incredible is certainly the better of the two, but if you can’t spend $ 200, the Ally is certainly the best phone that you can get for $ 100..

What do you reckon? Answer below!

I now have a htc tilt 2 and it is a small glitchy for my taste. I bought the phone back in September so I don’t have an upgrade which means I will have to buy the aria at the no contract price of $ 380. I really want a capacitive touch phone from AT&T. So should I wait for a different android phone to come out or just get the aria?

Also delight provide me with a list of upcoming android phones for AT&T if u know of any.

On AT&T, you only have 2 choices for Android right now… Backflip and Aria. I don’t know of any new models coming out any time soon, I haven’t seen any rumors to that effect.

I looked at the Tilt 2, but the reviews were just not excellent. It would have been a excellent upgrade from my TMobile Wing, but all the reviews said it was even flakier than my Wing, and that is terrible.

I went to AT&T and the Aria. So far, I haven’t anything terrible to say about the phone. It is much less vital than what I am used to on the Wing, but the screen is brighter and simpler to read. The touch functions work very well, although it took some adjustment for me. All in all, it was absolutely an upgrade from the Windows Mobile platform.
