Best Smart Phone of this bunch?

Best Smart Phone of this bunch?

Hi, I’m looking at possibly purchasing a smart phone from this list:

HTC Touch Pro: http://www.htc.com/www/product/touchpro/overview.html
Nokia N96: http://www.nseries.com/products/n96/
Samsung Omnia i900: http://omnia.samsungmobile.com/
T-Mobile G1: http://www.t-mobileg1.com/

Can anyone provide some opinions on which would be the best buy? Let’s ignore price for the time being, although if you need to add that to your analysis, feel free to.

Right now, I use my phone nearly only as a phone, phonebook, alarm, and calculator. But here’s what I would doubtless look at for a future phone (and no, the list isn’t extensive):

- Size (pocketable, less vital/thinner without compromising screen size too much)
- Just general usability (navigation, etc.)
- Multimedia (video and music player)
- WiFi
- Not sure if I need 3G-enabled
- Excellent typing interface (either QWERTY keyboard or touch screen keyboard)
- I doubtless won’t play games on it
- Don’t care too much about the camera or video capabilities, most of them are enough fine anyway.
- Perhaps without a stylus… I’ve never had a PDA or smart phone, so I’m not sure how much I’d like a stylus

The reason for the limited list is because these are the phones available in an auction in my area. So, delight don’t suggest models not listed (like the iPhone).
Wanted to add that one of my main uses would be to check email and web browsing. So the UI for that is a higher priority consideration.
Yeah, reviews seem excellent with the Omnia. And a few forums have a lot of pleased Touch Pro-to-Omnia i900 converts. But I’m concerned about the Omnia’s low resolution for web applications and video. Also, the touch sensitivity is supposed to be poor around the edges (reportedly the letter “a” in particular).

Web browsing is supposed to be best with the Google phone, but it’s battery life is terrible.

And people have been complaining about movie-playing lag and overall slowness with the Touch Pro.

Any other thoughts?

Samsung Epix or the Omnia, in your case. It really has all the requirements you have listed, plus Windows Mobile 6.1, a 2.0 MP camera and it does video as well it does come with a stylus, but I find its touchscreen so responsive that I never really use it. It’s really just the best phone.

Give your answer to this question below!

So for this Christmas I have some thoughts for what I want. I am going to list them and I want you to tell me which is best. The maximum I can spend is 500 dollars (I’m paying for 200 dollars of my Christmas present). Here’s my list.

- T-Mobile Sidekick 2008 w/ 2 year contract for $ 30 a month
- T-Mobile Sidekick 2008 prepaid w/ $ 1 a day data plot and buy refill cards
- T-Mobile Sidekick 2008 unlocked and place it on AT&T + other things because Sidekick 2008 is only $ 300
- AT&T Fuze (HTC Touch Pro) for $ 500 w/o a contract
- Dell refurbished laptop for $ 450 – $ 500
- X-Box 360 for $ 300 + Halo 3 and Rock Band 2
- LG Vu for $ 300 w/o a contract + $ 150 – $ 200 of other stuff
- T-Mobile G1 for $ 400 unlocked on AT&T + possibly extra stuff
- MAYBE Blackberry Bold w/o a contract from AT&T ONLY if the retail price drops from $ 550 to $ 500 or under

So choose which one sounds best and if you want, why. Thanks!
Also!!! A 120GB customized Zune + other stuff because it is only $ 260 with the custom designs.

I’d rather have wherever to live than buy a mobile or a console.
Really none of these signal like something I (personally) would be attracted in.
