Q&A: My smartphone is lagging?
I have the HTC Hero and it is lagging really terrible. I have a 8GB memory card in it but it still laggs. Why is this and can I fix it. I thought that smartphones everywhere not suppose to be like this.

They can get bogged down, just like any computer. If you have too many things running at once, of if you’ve filled up the memory, it will lag. If you don’t have a bunch of stuff running, try turning it off and back on again in a minute. That will clear out any processes that are lynching around in the background.

I had called the 9:30 Club earlier and could’ve sworn I’d been told SLR cameras were permitted, but perhaps I misheard what may have really been that they were *not* permitted. I hadn’t yet went my new SD4000 into my backup kit… which meant that with my A650 now deceased: I didn’t *have* a backup kit. So my new cameraphone became backup… for better in the sense of preserving memories; for worse in the sense of getting any quality photos.
So my att contract expired and I’m stuck with an ancient Blackberry Curve that I’m dying to toss out. I’m thinking about switching carriers and moving to either Sprint or Verizon. The Sprint contract that I would get is $ 70 a month, whereas the Verizon contract that I would choose is $ 80. So right off the bat, I would be saving $ 240 by choosing Sprint (2 year contracts). Both carriers have phones that I want.
On Sprint, I’m stuck between choosing the HTC Hero or the Samsung Instinct HD. I would choose the HTC Evo but I’m not about to pay $ 80 a month for 4G in my 3G area. Anyways, I would easily pick the Hero over the Instinct, but I like how the Instinct looks physically and how the calling looks. I watched a video of someone demonstrating how to call on the Instinct and it looked pretty cool (mainly ignoring or accepting calls; you slide the contact either up or down). Besides that, I’m set for a Hero, on Sprint. Although I heard that the Hero’s internal memory fills up instantly, I don’t plot on downloading that many apps on it. I already have an iPod Touch.
On Verizon, I reckon I would choose either the Droid Incredible (because I like HTC and the other 2 droids aren’t appealing to me), or the LG Allly. I have no experiences with either phone so I’m hoping you guys could choose for me.
If anyone has owned any of these 4 phones, delight comment on your experiences by it. Thanks!
If there are any other phones on those two networks that I should consider, let me know. Also, if you make a convincing argument for getting the Evo, I might reckon about it. Thanks

Well, the Hero is a bit outdated now with the hype of the 1 ghz processors and 2 ghz processors to come. I’m reckon the Instinct has Samsung’s own OS, so apps might be lacking on it. I do own a Nexus One and the Droid Incredible is similar to it, so I do believe that the phone is quite excellent overall. The LG Ally is simply not worth it as it has a crappy cpu and outdated technology. Overall, the incredible might be your best choice as the evo is basically the same except for video calling and a slightly larger screen (4g is very limited to certain areas). You may want to consider the samsung animated on tmobile though. Fantastic cpu, gpu (for making a bet), screen, and camera.
