What is the culture of the Mayan Pyramids (please read!)?

I’m doing a project about Mayan Pyramids from Chichen Itza and i need help on a few questions.
What was the time when the Mayan Pyramids were built?
What was the purpose of building the Mayan Pyramids?
What is the importance of the structure to the nation it represents?
And hot do you pronounce Chichen Itza?

If you know any of the answers please tell me!
i meant how not hot

If you are doing a project, you should look up websites and not ask basic questions. Reserve questions for interpretations and insight.

Chichen Itza is a complex story because there is not one single time for it’s development, in fact it is composed of construction on top of the original construction, which gives it more than one age.
I used to know all the answers you seek but it’s been a very long time. I guarantee that if you do all your own studies, you will be enriched. then you could actually go there and see the real thing up close and personal….it will mean so much if you absorb the knowledge on your own.
it’s hard to give you the pronunciuation in writing, but her goes
“Chi” has the long EE sound…
chen is like it sounds,
It-has long ee sound
and there is heavy emphasis on the ending -za. short a

No Its not to crazy in Those months. I went in August of ’06 It was hot but i think you will be able to handle it. i am going to be there july of ’08. I think you should do these things:
Go to Clubs such as Coco bogo or the senor frogs
Go to Isla Mujeres and swim with dolphins there
Go also to Xpu-ha.

Hope this helped. have fun on planning ur trip and hope u enjoy it.

I think if you have reservations about the heat, this is the only reason why I would not recommend visiting the pyramids of Chichen Itza. This is because they site is located inland and can become quite hot during the summer months. Otherwise, you should go sightseeing and try to stay in the water. In fact, a swim with Dolphins or Whale Sharks would be a fun adventure. I’m not sure if this site is up and running yet but bookmark this for the near future:

And this site has all the Discovery tours, including snorkeling, eco parks (I like Xel-Ha with the All Inclusive plan) and of course the swim with Dolphins:
