What's a really good secondary laptop that you can take everywhere?

I’m looking for a really good UMPC or at least a portable laptop that’s really sturdy and looks like it can take a beating. I really dont have too much to spend, around $ 750~1100…
I’ve been looking at the Toshiba Lifebook U810 but the keyboard is a bit too small for my taste.
Is there any laptop thats similar to the Lifebook U810 that’s a bit cheaper?

Wibrain B1 UMPC

The Wibrain B1 UMPC is a UMPC based on the VIA Ultra Mobility Platform featuring a 1.2 GHz VIA C7-M processor, 4.8" touchscreen, split thumboard, touchpad, and webcam.

I would like to buy a microcomputer or what is referred to as a umpc, but I can not find a 4.8 – 7 inch netbook. I can find them in China, but would prefer to buy from the U.S. I need 2 USB ports and a keyboard with at least xp; no ce.
