How do I CANCEL out of Your Travel Biz (YTB) and get my money back?

Long tale small. Wife attends a friend’s “travel” party. After couple of wines… signs up for YTB… $ 500 initiation and $ 50/month. She is a innocent person and in over her head with sales pitches. I didn’t find out till Visa bill hit. YTB policy is you get your $ back if cancel within 5 days. Bottomline it’s a pyramid scheme. Is there a way out or am i out $ 550? how about trying to recover thru Visa chargeback? Thanks much for the help.

My estimate is after looking at their website, you’re pretty much out of luck. You can tell Visa you are disputing the charges, though, since your wife signed the contract, I don’t reckon you’ll win. They’ll just show Visa a copy of what your wife signed and you’re going to lose.

5 day cancellation??? Most of them at least give you 30 days to try it out. 5 days really sucks.

I just did a bit of web searching on YTB and it appears that you and a whole bunch of other people are in the same boat. Some of them really tried to make the program work and when they figured out that they couldn’t in a couple weeks, they couldn’t get their money back. I haven’t found one yet that managed to get a refund in 10 minutes or so of research on YTB.

That is so incorrect with booking travel and getting paid? You can also travel yourself from what my friends are doing. I looked into this and see that it is excellent if you want to travel and do have a computer and time.

we could have hit as many of these pyramids as we wanted to. but one pile each was enough.

I’m doing a huge ole european backpacking trip and I just had to get Egypt in there. I’m trying to hit as much as possible while still really having enough time to delight in the seats I see so I’m attracted in finding out if anyone has seen Cairo (pyramids) and Luxor and if you have an thought on how much it could be condensed?

Also any general travel tips and experiences you want to share would be fantastic too. Thank you!

i would say a excellent 8 days to see both the seats thoroughly. i had Aswan, Cairo and Luxor in my itinerary. Stayed in Cairo for three days, one day in Aswan, another two days in Luxor before coming back to cairo for my flight out. I traveled through the sleeper teach, which is in fact pretty excellent. You can also go for the Nile cruise, which apparently is the perfect way to delight in egypt.

at minimum you can delight in cairo in 10 days or two weeks
but I didn’t go to luxor so I can’t help in that

i suggest you stay in Egypt for 7 or 10 days .
spend 3 days in Cairo to see the Pyramids , the Sphinx , visit the Museum , go on a Nile Cruise with feast and a show .

then go to Luxor , Aswan , and Abu Simbel for 4 days .

if you can go to Sharm el Sheikh on a seaside vacation that would provide you with fantastic relaxation.
you will delight in each minute , trust me .
