Is the HTC hero a good phone to work with?

Im getting the HTC hero for my Dad and he’s not that smart, but the htc hero is the one for him . Would it be a good use for him ?

The Hero is an Android phone which runs software designed by Google. It will compete with the iPhone which runs software designed by Apple. The Android phones work with Google apps (online calendar, contacts, etc.) The iPhone integrates with Apple (iTunes, etc.). I have used both extensively. The iPhone is a somewhat easier to learn and use, and it is smoother when u scroll and jump around between functions.

It also depends on your carrier. In the US, the current Android phones only work with Sprint (Hero) and TMobile (MyTouch). Verizon has announced a great new (expensive) Android phone which will be out sometime this month or next. The iPhone only works with AT&T, and AT&T hasn’t announced any plans for an Android phone yet.
