Which driod Phone should I choose?

I’m looking to buy a chocolate bar type, full touch screen android smart phone, I personally haven’t ever had a smart phone, but I know several people who’ve had them for well over a year now, having let other people do the beta testing I’m now thinking of getting my own.

I don’t want to spend much more than around £450 on the phone (for those not in the uk the galaxy s costs £430 so that kind of price), I have no minimum spend.

I am currently considering more seriously than any others the Samsung galaxy s, I also like the HTC legend, desire and wildfire, and although i have heard mixed reports on the xperia x10 seires, those also.

Whats important to me is:
Thickness, and screen area. I’d like thin with a fairly large screen.
Battery life is important, having talked to people about it, i am under the impression battery life is a bit of a joke with smart phones and ive begun to give up getting much, but id like 1 or 2 if possible days of standby time with minimal use.
Tethering, one use i had planned for my phone was to tether it to my net book for internet access, preferably wirelesly.
Ease of use, usefulness and applications. The main put off for the galaxy for me was that I’m told it has sod all applications for it. I am looking for the added functionality that comes with available functional applications.

I’m not completely closed to out of the box suggestions, but I am more interested in finding which of the phones suggested will be the best to choose. Also any comments about any of the phones in this list would be relay helpful, i value real peoples opinions more than anything.

HTC Desire. It is perfect and the Interface it has is much better than most of the other Android phones (excluding other HTC Android phones) and it’s hardware is amazing. I recommend it.

Dear Friends,

I want to buy an android smartphone within the 20K budget. Within my budget i found samsung galaxy Ace (approx 15K) and I9003 Super Clear LCD(approx 20K).

There are so many phones available in the market within this price range i am confused which one is good value for money. My primary requirement is 2.5-4inch screen, good ram, good processor,3G, etc

Can someone suggest me the right phone who are using above mentioned devices.
You could also suggest other brand like HTC phone within this range.

If your budget is 20k then you should definitely go for Samsung Galaxy SL-9003. Its a bit toned down version of Samsung Galaxy S 9000 and has a Super LCD in place of AMOLED screen. despite this major change Galaxy SL is still a value buy for 20k. On the other hand galaxy Ace is also a good phone but not comparable to Galaxy SL. Ace has a weaker processor of 800 MHz as compared to Sl`s 1 GHz and has a smaller screen of 3.5 inch as compared to Sl`s 4 inch. At 15k Ace is also a good smart phone. But, if you want to spend 20k for a phone then Galaxy SL is worth that much money. Infact, with a bit of market survey you can get Galaxy SL for as much as 18,500/-. For starters, you can compare the prices on www.mysmartprice.com. If you are ok with stretching your budget with 2-3k, then you can also check out HTC Desire.
