Can an iphone upgrade be done on another family plan line and then work for my phone number?

I am currently using a family plot. My phone is not eligible for an iphone upgrade, but one of the additional lines is. Do iphone’s work like fixed phones where I can “upgrade” another line and then just transfer my sim card to it and it works for my line? Is there anyway to not upgrade my particular line, but keep the iphone emotionally involved to my number?

Yeah what you want is an Every second upgrade , you can use the additional phone’s upgrade to upgrade your phone.

If you just place your sim into the phone make sure to call at&t and tell them you’ve switch to the new phone so they can make sure your account has the needed data plot, otherwise you may maybe get overage fees for using the phone.
