Where I can find apps, games and stuff for Pocket PC?

I want to know where I can find the stuff for my pocket pc. It’s a HP iPAQ 111 Classic Handheld.
I want to know anything you know about “the stuff” and can I upgrade my windows mobile 6.0 to a newer version or it is built-in and can’t be changed. Please HELP!

[99/365] Open Hack London – Day 2
windows mobile games

So I chose to place the Open Hack London event early days gone by but I was determined that I’d at least do a bit of hacking around today as I had the time and reasonably a few thoughts. The few thoughts I’d had so far were:

* Making a mobile version of my Tube Updates site using Yahoo! Blueprint
* A microformat hcard generator which would take an existing address and then use Yahoo! GeoPlanet to parse it, break it into it’s parts, and then generate nice semantic markup
* Some kind of place-aware linkup with www.last.fm to provide place details with each song scrobble

But, I finished up before a live audience Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts for reasonably a large part of the day and so ultimately chose that I’d work on the above thoughts at some additional point and instead focus on something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time; parse my Xbox Live achievements so I can show them on my website.

Now you would reckon — incorrectly — that it would be positively simple to get that data and show it but unfortunately there is no public API for Xbox Live and the internal API (which has been opened up to a degree by Duncan Mackenzie) doesn’t give you detailed information about achievements – it just says how many in a certain game you’ve completed and your whole gamerpoints. I would therefore need to parse the live.xbox.com profile pages in order to get the information I seeked. Annoyingly, you need to be logged into Windows Live to see that information. This is particularly frustrating as there is no need for that restriction as once you are logged in you can see anybodies achievement information (unless they’ve blocked you) so I don’t know why it requires a login. In any case, I’ve done reasonably a lot of work with cURL (e.g. sorting into facebook to rasp the PackRat game pages for the PackRat Market Tracker – http://packrattools.com/tracker/) so I thought it would be a case of just doing this again with slightly different markup.

I was incorrect.

Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, won’t let you login to Windows Live without JavaScript which thus instantly kills all hope of sorting in via a PHP script. I tried a few hacks around it but it would seem that some compressed, obfuscated JavaScript is really altering the POST variables as it gets sent through to Windows Live meaning that JavaScript is really necessary for the login. I assume this is to stop public screenscraping their innumerable services (e.g. hotmail accounts) but it is a pain. In any case, I have found a way around it which I shall be blogging about tomorrow ;)

This is a photo of me just before I learn that the 1 hour bit of hacking I thought I was going to do turns into 8 hours of fruitlessness!

Update 12th May 2009: I’ve just published my blog article about the problems experienced above and the workaround to fix it – Getting Xbox Live Achievements with PHP: Part 1 – The Problems

Day 99 of 365

I’ve been looking all night for a REAL mario game — not mario tetris or mario whack-a-mole … a real jump&run coin collecing turtle-throwing mario game.

Has anyone found one of these / is it free??

Thanks!
