Can I use the HTC Sprint Evo 4g in the UK?

I have an iphone 3gs on a plan, and Im selling it to buy this HTC 4g, as I really want to get high speed internet to my laptop everywhere! How could I get the HTC working on 4g, or a similar device so I can tether fast?

You cannot.

The Evo is a CDMA device and all of the providers in the UK use GSM.

It would be a very expensive paperweight. The HTC Evo does not have GSM functionality and there are no CDMA carriers in the UK. And even if there were, it would be running at 3G speeds unless this hypothetical carrier had a WiMax network as well.
