Can some of you recommend some good applications for my Windows Mobile Pocket PC cell phone?

My cell phone has Windows Mobile and is a Pocket PC. I would like to download some useful applications for it, but could use some recommendations. I could use an application that provides a nice looking theme (better than the default anyway) and I need recommendations for budgeting app, photo app, and any other useful applications for a Pocket PC that are reliable.

I am planning to merge my PDA and my cellphone into a single unit, by purchasing a Windows Mobile smartphone. I use my PDA mostly to listen to music, read PDFs on the go and as a GPS with TomTom. Is Windows Mobile the same os as Pocket PC? Are the applications mutually compatible? Thanks.

The answer is “usually”.

“Pocket PC” is now called “Windows Mobile Classic” for touch screen devices without a phone built in (such as the iPAQ 111) and “Windows Mobile Professional” if its a touch screen with a phone.

If its a Windows phone without a touchscreen its called “Windows Mobile Standard” – previously known as Windows Mobile Smartphone.

Now – for compatibility – software created for Pocket PCs usally works on newer Windows Mobile touch screen devices “Professional/Standard”.

However – if you buy a Windows Mobile phone with a high-resolution screen (VGA / XVGA), a square screen or one that primarily works in landscape orientation (the screen is wider than it is tall) the software may not work.

Finally – if you’re looking at retail applications such as TomTom or PDF readers – they’ve been updated to support all of the new Windows Mobile devices now anyways so you really shouldn’t have to worry.

I’d just recommend installing the trial version on your new Windows Mobile Professional device before purchasing.

At what age should kittens start eating food?

There was a mother cat that had 4 kittens at our house, but she later abandoned them. The kittens are about 3 weeks old, and right now we are feeding them Milk Replacement with a bottle. At what age should I start giving them food, and also what kind of food is best to give them?

any wet food is fine, science diet is good, and at 4 – 5 weeks they can have a teaspoon each a day. they will cry when they are hungry.

I think 3-4 weeks is a good time. I would buy kitten dry food and put a bit of water on it, so it can dampen and it’ll be easier for the kitten to chew.

I think you can start with food now.

Just make sure it’s good food.

Dry is not good, because cats are designed to get their hydration from what they eat, not by drinking. One article explains it well and I’m gonna paste a part of it for you here, it’s from the second webpage in my sources:

Cats evolved as desert creatures and are well adapted (still!) to survive in a dry climate, if fed their natural food. Cats are not thirst driven like dogs and are able to survive on less water than dogs. They compensate for reduced water intake by concentrating their urine. When fed a dry food diet (which has less than 10 percent moisture), unless they drink a lot of water, which most cats do not, they are in a constant state of dehydration. Moreover, although a cat consuming a dry food diet does drink more water than a cat consuming a canned food diet, in the end, when water from all sources is added together — what’s in their diet plus what they drink — the cat consumes approximately HALF the amount of water compared with a cat eating canned foods.6 On a dry food diet, a cat’s urine becomes overly concentrated which leads to feline lower urinary tract disease. Consumption of dry food is associated with lower urinary tract disease as is increased frequency of feeding (a.k.a “free feeding” which is how most people feed dry food), no matter what type of food is fed and obesity.

So now that dry is out of the way, look at the ingredients in the wet food.

It needs to be completely grain-free. Grain is not part of cat’s natural diet, and cats can’t process it. It’s too high in carbohydrate, that contributes to diabetes and obesity.

So if you stick to all wet grain-free diet, your kittens will get the proper nutrition and hydration to grow to healthy cats. In nature, the kittens wouldn’t eat anything different from the mother, and it’s always best to follow the nature

How do I transfer files between my HTC Smart and my computer?

I went to the site and it told me to download HTC Sync for BrewMP.

I did so but I don’t see any such features in the program. My bluetooth dongle won’t let me transfer to this phone either, though it can transfer to my other phones.

Help appreciated!

If you have a data cable then you can use that to transfer your files to computer, install the data cable driver in your computer and you will be able to transfer data.

Hi.Hook up the phone as you would.On the phone select “mount” or usb mass storage. I think you’ll have to drag that notification bar down to select mount or usb mass storage.

Once you got that, go to start, my computer, your phone under removable storage. Open the gallery/picture folder. Drag & drop pictures from your computer to that folder. For music, just open the songs/playlist folder. Drag & Drop songs from your computer into that folder.

I reckon it’s safe to say that the Toshiba Libretto series was the one of the first umpc/netbook. The Libretto 50 supposed to come with Pentium 75mhz cpu, 16mb ram, 800mb hdd, though,
this particular example is a late production model and by the time it was being made, Intel has already stopped making the 75mhz Pentium, so what did Toshiba do? They place a 120mhz Pentium in it and *underclock* it back to 75mhz. You may have estimate it, some clever hackers figure this out and a small bit of soldering later, we have 120mhz Libretto 50s.

I reckon your best bet would be either a Netbook if you’re on a budget, or a tablet/laptop combo if you have money to spare. There are laptops out there everywhere you can spin the show around 180º and fold it down over the keyboard, making it into a tablet PC.

dont get the iphone. Sure, its a cool phone, but 2 being from now, they’re going to have a different model of it out. Reckon back to when cell phones were HUGE. They’ll always evolve. Basically this new version has quicker internet, GPS navigation and ability to download(buy) applications such as games.

The Phone will cost $ 199 for 8GB $ 299 for 16GB. Then you will have to buy a voice plot for at least $ 39.99/month along with a Data plot for $ 30/month for unlimited web surfing, then a text messaging plot for $ 5-$ 15/month.

Expect to pay $ 80+/month for the full service plot. I would expect AT&T will let you drop the data plot and just use this as a sweet touch screen phone.

The phone has a very smooth UI which is fun to use, but lacks some basic features that might be very vital for some. For example, it doesn’t have picture messaging which is very vital for some people but not for others. There might be an application that someone will make to accomplish this, but you will liable have to pay for it.

Take a look at the links above, there is a fantastic deal of information out there. I will liable buy the 3G iPhone when it comes out, but might wait to see if there are some applications to buy that will fill in the gone pieces first.

I got my iPhone back in October and all I can say is that I absolutely like this device. Nearly everything about it is a Pro. This phone gives you instant email access, instant internet access, the simplest texting available, and it’s also a phone! I paid 400.00 for it an have not regretted it for one moment. If you’re getting the new, less expensive, iPhone that is being unrestricted on July 11th then you are getting my phone with a quicker internet speed and better applications, including GPS. It boggles my mind that they can improve on this device.
My only con is that I cannot upgrade yet, but amazingly, I’m okay with that.
And what does it matter that once you buy your phone they will already be working on something better to place out the next time? It doesn’t matter.

As of right now, you cannot forwards text messages on the Iphone. It’s one of my largest complaints about the iphone, next to the fact you can’t send or receive multi media messages.

Hopefully Apple will release an bring up to date that will allow us to do more with text messaging on the Iphone.

That is right, there is no way to forwards the text messages with unfilled software. They have been promising SMS forwarding for a while. Hopefully soon.

Htc droid incredible upgrade from voyager?

i have an lg explorer, the titanium one and my contract is up in september and im do for an upgrade in septemer. Now, the only thing is my service is suspended right now becus i chose not to waste more money on the explorer which isnt cuttin it for me anymore, so im on a plot to only pay 45 dollars a month to keep them from cutting my line completely. This works out for me becus i plot on paying the rest of the entire bill right before i upgrade my phone which verizon said was ok to do. i wanna kno if any of this will affect my new each two upgrade or make my new bill more expensive. I also wanna kno how much the incredible will cost with the discount from the upgrade, i’ve heard people say 200 but thats the price anyone can get it for with a new contract, im talking about the new each two discounted upgrade which is supposed to take off 50 to 100 or something. also if i buy my phone from bestbuy or somewhere other than verizon can i use my upgrade there or is anything gonna be diffrent if i do. does anyone kno about this stuff because this is my first smartphone so i dont know much about them.

The upgrade price is the same as the new contract price because essentially you are renewing your contract. The phone will be $ 200 after the discount and you should be able to get it at best buy but doubtless not any other stores besides the verizon stores because no many seats carry the high-end phones.

I disagree, the nice guy gets the girls, but it is always nice to have a really cool phone, you should check in town to see if any shops have it in stock, if not then it’s best just to wait and keep checking your usual websites for it, possibly even try amazon or ebay

I have the Sprint HTC Touch, running Windows Mobile 6.1. The home screen looks nice enough, but when if I searched “Windows Mobile 6.1″ on Wikipedia, the screen it shows looks much much nicer than what I have! Though, there are no settings that allow me to change the look of it. Is it possible to do this?

That is to emulate the head forming as the Guinness settles the head is the creamy part on the top of the glass, often when the pint is poured it has to be let sit to allow the foam to rise, I am a long time Guinness drinker, draught, bottles, tins and here in Canada we have brewery licenced to make it, my family who is Irsh never liked our version, it is to “Fizzy” for them, but makes a fantastic Guinness Stew or cake.

The sun hit the top of Pyramid Mountain with a hint of colour, then it vanished and it started raining. I despise that I underexposed the picture so much, but it is a nice feeling nevertheless

Everywhere the height of the pyramid hits the base, will it fall two-thirds of the way down the height of the base? I know that all of the heights of an equilateral triangle will meet at one point, but will the height of the pyramid also meet there?

What kind of work at home jobs are available?

I obviously can’t have a job that would require me to deal with coworkers bc one of them is bound to piss me off. I end up going off on them and I get canned. Though, if I work at home and I explode, it would be at home and not at a company. The conundrum is what work at home jobs are out there and how can I get them? I’m not considering self employment. I wanna be tied to a company. Plus, how hard is it to get hired at the company if I were fired for workplace violence against an inanimate object?
Oh and I nearly 4got 2 mention. I was also fired for verbally abusing a coworker. Would the prospective employer care since I’ll be at home and not at their house of business?

Your conundrum is not that employees pissyou off … it’s your incapability to work as a normal employee. If you were to eliminate your passion, your work may suffer, but when it comes to working with people … the only job that does not require that is unemployment.

FYI – if you get canned for having a verbal tirade — you will not get any unemployment benefits. I’d suggest you reckon long and hard before getting into any at-home business. It’s more hassle … and more Hustle.

you havent mentioned your age but ile estimate tyour young or at least youngish . seems like you could have a conundrum with your peoples communications skills and if that be the case , before you concider applying for an other job either in the home or outside of , you must deal with this conundrum im not qualified to advise you how to go about this . though i do know that you should have a chat with your g p . and he will advise you on everywhere and how seek relevent information help etc . now your thought that you land a job working from home would be the solution to your not getting on with other is a definate non runner , the reasonj is because even working from home you still would be working under some type of outside supervision via phone / internet , house calls by an agent collectors supervisors etc who no doubt will sooner or later upset you in some way or other . so no matter what you work at or for whom you will still have to answer to someone and its at that juncture you will react , so as i havbe already stated above get medical advice before you embark on your next job hunt , lastly its most liable your potential employers will check up on your previous employment description and your terrible marks will come to set alight , a previous may even give you a clean allusion nearly always potential employers will check up on you via previous employers via phone / internet and its over those methods that your right allusion will come to set alight . at least if you seek and follow thrugh with medical advice you can then you can prove to any potential employer that you are or have dealth with those problems and everybody fdeserves a chance so excellent luck ,

I really like what I do. I work from home in the healthcare field. It is mostly computer and telephone work so you have to be comfortable talking to people. It helps if you are the sort of person that enjoys helping others as that is a large part of my job as well. I agree with one of the answers below. MOST work from home jobs ARE scams. I looked at many companies before I found a reputable one. The one I work for is a multimillion dollar company that has been in business since 1992. If this sounds as if this is something you may like to investigate I would be pleased to answer any questions. Excellent luck!

I agree with seven, these answers seem to be posted by scammers and post robots or something. Some of the responses don’t even make sense. Delight ignore them and their spam links.

I am not sure about being tied to a company for all of these jobs, but over the being I have lessened down some legitimate work at home options. For some of these, you are an IC (independent contractor)

1. Paid Surveys (they do exist, PineCone Research is a fantastic company, you just need to avoid the scams)
2. Get Paid to Complete Free Offers (same as above)
3. Writing for Content Companies (my personal favorite, check out associatedcontent.com)
4. Freelance Bidding Sites (you can find some fantastic jobs with sites like getafreelancer.com, etc)
5.Online Answer Services (sites like ChaCha everywhere you answer peoples questions that they question via cell phone, you answer on your computer)
6. Mystery Shopping type jobs (not really work at home, watch out for scams as well)

There are numerous programs that will make your windows mobile device look and/or act like an iPhone. To get a more detailed answer you may have to describe what the iPhone feature you are really looking for, if you want other people to reckon you are sending the messages from an iPhone I don’t believe there is any difference in the message once it’s left the phone.

Would that happen to be the Touch HD or the Touch Pro? If so i suggest downloading and installing the iphone theme as this makes your phone have the fantastic navigation skills of the iphone.
Another fantastic app would be the ‘Dont Touch Me’ application which sets off an alarm of your choice when someone trys by your phone. Google both to download them for free.

Now that ive helped you would you happen to help me? Im wondering what you reckon of the HTC phone and which one you have. Im looking to get the same phone. Thanks!
