How do you get videos off of your G1 (android, google phone) in GOOD QUALITY?

the only way i know how if its the most RECENT record i took, i can click on “SHARE” and send it to my email, facebook, where on earth. and the quality is perfect.

but if its NOT the most recent record i took, i dont know how to get it to come out in excellent quality. the only ways i know how to get it off the phone or send it in that case is to send it as an attachment in a txt message (to someone or to my email).. or take it off of my phone by plugging in the usb (which is inconvienent when you want to show something to someone or post it somewhere online and not wait until you get home – but even then, the quality doesnt match the quality you get when its your most recent and you “SHARE” it}

Just go to Gallery then videos and then with your fiddle with just push and hold until it pops up with the options. Then click “Share” and you can e-mail it. (You may have to setup a Gmail account for the email option to show up?)

If the phone was originally made to support the Android OS, then of course, but if not, without a developer team to make a version of android that the phone will run, it won’t be possible. If you want android then go buy an android device.

I’m looking at buying the HTC desire but I have a couple of questions:

When using google maps, does the dot showing your current place go as you go. For example, if you were on maps and drove into town, would the dot go like an arrow would on a sat-nav.

How do you setup a google account on an android phone?

I just got a Samsung Transform and I’m trying to set up my google account so that i can get my android market and everything but for some reason its having an issue. My gmail is already set up under email, but when i click on gmail and then enter my information, after about 30 seconds it gives me the message: “Cant establish a reliable data connection to the ma?tre d’h?tel. This may maybe be a temporary conundrum or your phone may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care” Anyone know how to do this???

I have been agreed a dev phone 1 with an ancient Android OS. Apparently, this is a developer phone capable of life upgraded to any new Android OS. So far, I have only seen references to upgrading dev phone 1 devices to version 1.6 of Android. My assignment is to upgrade the phone to Android 2.2.

I’ve just done this with fantastic success, but it will take a few hours and you have to bite the bullet.

You log in to the market with your gmail account.

When you first set up the phone, you use the email address you used when you made your gmail account. So running the SETUP app on the phone and go through the steps for background up your phone will get the phone setup to use your current or new google email address.

Make sure you backup your contacts and anything you want to keep, to your SD card before running the setup, as I have not done it from a phone that way not new, so don’t know if it will erase anything on the phone or not.

What is the best android alternative to google talk?

I use a g-apps account primarily with an additional gmail account. I like to use google chat/google talk/gtalk on them, but google talk for moto android only serves one defualt account. My default is set to my gmail account, which cannot be changed unless i restore my phone, in which case i can still only be logged into one account for gchat at once.
i have tried one alternative that allows two accounts at once – ebuddy. i found the app average but had some unacceptable bugs.

do you know of any alternative apps i may maybe use to sign both of my google accounts into gtalk at once?

hi I have motorola cliq xt with android 1.5 and was wondering when it gets a 2.x update will the google maps navigation (gps ) requires a WIFI or 3G connection. I dont want to have to connect to 3g or WIFI. Also is there any free turn by turn gps that doesnt require a data or wifi connection for android 1.5? Your fist question answer is Yes it requires internet to access the googlemap.com You can still use the phone with out a data plot. But navigation will not have any maps to go on.

Your second question answer is No there are not any free turn by turn navigation. And there is only one paid offline turn by turn navigation that really works. I use it and it’s called NavDroyd. You place the maps for your place on the sd card and it access them from there.

Your third question. Motorola Official Info on Updates. See Link and check it for official release. Its plotted for this month.

Sprint Nextel and T-Mobile are the only mobile carriers which are part of the Open Handset Alliance (the group which oversees the development of Android). It’s possible that additional carriers will join in the future, but there currently is no indication if that’ll ever happen.

It’s not up to Google, they’ve already released Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It’s up to HTC and Sprint to release the update to the HTC EVO 4G. They could release it in the coming months.

Does android phone offer updates similar to the iphone?

Updates are done automatically, Droid will update itself to the newest OS on its own even if it is running on an older OS, gets on my nerves sometimes because stuff randomly changes and I dont know why till i realize an update is out, you can also force the updates if they dont go on their own very simply. Depends… certain Android phones are getting the update where as others any aren’t or aren’t for a while. e.g. The Nexus One is the only one currently with 2.2 whereas some others are getting it this weekend. More like a phased in update for the innumerable phones that Android runs on, disparate the iPhone where it is generally the same phone so everyone can update at the same time once the software is unrestricted.

If I have this app on my mytouch will calling to canada be free or how does this work? I called using the gv business and first it showed some google voice number then called the number in canada but on my call log it only shows the number for canada. Will I get charged on my bill for calling canada or will it count as the additional number so its free?

When you install the Google app and register your cell phone with the Google Voice, anytime you dial a phone number the app will automatically question you if you want to call the phone number using Google Voice or your cell phone carrier. Since it is a Canada number you would have to choose using Google Voice otherwise if you select your cell phone carrier you will be paying for the cell phone call due to international calling and you will use your minutes.

With Google voice all calls within USA and to Canada are free. No long distance charges. Make sure you choose using Google voice after you enter the phone number that you are calling to.

How to close the application on iPhone without keeping it in multitasking bar?

Hi, is there a way how to close the application without having it showed in multitasking bar? Or to disable multitasking entirely. I really despise how the multitasking “works” on iPhone..

Yeah….just close the application the same way as before.
Just press the home button once rather than twice and then instead of the app life showed on the multitasking bar, it will just close as normal.

And as far as I know, there isn’t an option to turn it off.

You can’t, as of yet. You have to “kill it off” manually by holding down the icons and beating the minus symbol.

Open up the multi-tasking bar by double-clicking the home button.

Then touch and hold on one of the icons in the multi-tasking bar.

The icons will start to wiggle and in the top left handside there will be a minus sign in a red circle.

Simply click on the minus sign to close the application.

I reckon you guys are missing the point to the question (and one really incorrect answer as well). Is there a way to just CLOSE the app? And I don’t reckon there is a way to close it on the glide. I’m really reasonably shocked at this huge oversight on Apple’s part. I reckon your average iPhone user is going to keep using his or her’s phone during the day and start wondering why it’s getting so slow and unsympathetic. Then you double tap the home button and see 12 different apps all intake up memory at once. It’s pretty inconvenient to “force” the app to minimize with no way “kill/close” option on the glide. Having to go in and manually shut each app down periodically is a whole pain.

IT’S EASY TO CLOSE THE APP. Just click and hold it in the task bar like you would if you were going to rearrange app icons on the home screen. A small red “DELETE” dot will appear instead of an x. Click that and it’s closed. I do it all the time. As for turning the feature off, welcome to iOS4.

I want to merge 3 calendars from meetup.com. This would make my life excellent again, as trying to manage all of these meetup calendars separately from my droid is confusing…

You have to make an account in iTunes and once you’re logged into iTunes sync you’re iPhone. Once that is done you should be able to download apps and what not

You have to go to iTunes. Where you buy the music. Right there you need to make an account with your email and passoword and then you need you place your debit or credit card so you can make payments. Then sync your iPhone to itunes and then you can buy whatever you want from iTunes in your cell.

All the Android phones on Verizon are smart phones. Really there was a discussion going on in the Verizon forums. Supposedly you can use the phone just on wifi with no data plot. Some features will not work though. Nothing will apt out by Android that is not a smart phone.

How to download free mp3 for iPhone 4 without signing in apple site?

I just bought days gone by my iPhone and I want to download some mp3′s, games, movies, videos and more please give me tips. To where I can download free of these and without signing in, in apple site. Because I don’t have a visa or credit card already I am really thankful who will help me about this and I will choose him the best answer.

Hi, for free MP3s I use MP3 raid – http://www.mp3raid.com/. I find the songs I want then download them to my computer then transfer them to iTunes ♥

The skin hasn’t settled completely yet, but it looks excellent. I feel way more reliable now to use my iPhone, and I’m glad it now fits into a dock WITH the protection.

I’ve seen all these jailbreaks for iOS 4.3 but they are all tethered. What happens if I try to boot the iPhone when it is not connected to my computer?

Also, how safe is the iOS 4.3 tethered jailbreak and how simple is it to restore it if I screw it up?

From what I can tell, it will boot normally but you won’t be able to use any jailbreak features. (Cydia, Winterboard, etc.)

If you boot it without the computer you won’t be able to use any jailbreak apps and features (or cydia itself) and Safari will be locked. You won’t be able to use it at all. Same goes for some of the additional iPhone apps, both default and installed apps. Sorry :/

When you reboot your iphone, nothing will happen. It will just stay on the loading screen (IT HAD HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE). Trust me, it isn’t a very excellent experience.The only way to reboot it is to connect it to your computer and jailbreak it again.

Tethered jailbreak earnings you have to connect to the computer each time you want cydia and all that. So if you are on holidays and there is no computer, then your iphone is completely unusable.

I therefore suggest that you don’t use a tethered version but wait for the untethered version of ios 4.3. Untethered is so much better.

If you screw up, there is always the restore chance but when i jailbroke my iPhone using a TETHERED version, it took at least 3 hours for me to get the restore as it would not connect.

well man the 3gs is the newest current iphone. it is the fastest iphone. loads pages nearer, games better, etc etc. it only comes in 16gb and 32gb and the 16gb is 200 bucks. the 3g iphone, which is slower and bit less advanced, comes in 8 and 16gb models and the 8gb sells for 100 bucks. hope this helps! and get the 3gs well worth the money:)

3gs it has a record camara the 3g dosent. The 3gs has a coumpus the 3g doesent. I reckon the 3gs is 2x as quick. The 3gs has voice controll the 3g dosent. You get the thought.

The only significant difference is the speed is nearer in the 3GS.
I say this because, record camera can be added for like $ 1.99 on the 3G, the compass is not as useful a feature, and price difference is huge if you’re not buying from AT&T.
Now if you are buying from AT&T, then go with the refurbished 3gS for $ 149. I’ve had several public buy it, with no problems,no scratches or anything. And by the way, the 4.0 update includes some major features like multitasking that are ONLY for 3gS because the 3g processor can’t handle it.
