Q&A: Which mobility is better? Bell vs. Telus.?

Q&A: Which mobility is better? Bell vs. Telus.?

I’m eventually going to get a blackberry curve 8330.

I went to both telus and bell asking for advice and plans on both of them.

Telus:
The cost for the three-year contract is $ 99.99, but i didnt get to ask how much the activation fee cost, and i dont think its included in the 99.99 price either. Also, i heard that telus family plans arent that good. i never had a cellphone before, and my dad’s currently a telus customer. but we’re deciding if we should go with bell or just stick to telus.

Bell:
i went into the store, and they gave me some good offers. Except bell raised their three-year contract price to $ 149.99 since they had some stocking issues with the blackberry. They have a new offer where you buy a smartphone and get one free. I was thinking about using the share plan with my dad. Since he travels a lot, i think he’s going to consider getting the blackberry storm. BUT, i have no clue how much the activation fees cost. and the lowest costs per month. we’re not exactly the richest people, but about 50-60 bucks is probably fine. i also told my dad i’d be willing to put some in too.

if you were a previous bell or telus customer, or at least know anything about blackberry prices, plans and what not please share :)

but most importantly, i want to know which company is probably better for this situation right now. and for telus, one blackberry cost per month is probably up to 60-70 bucks. FOR ONE PERSON. and my dad doesn’t know if he wants that. whereas bell, offers $ 25 per month per person for the share plan.
:) thanks in advance guys.

my dad’s been a telus customer for the past 15 years (i think) and no real complaints with telus. everyone in my family is on the share (family) plan and i think it’s great. we’ve gone on trips together as a family to places outside of the lower mainland and we can call each other unlimitedly with no long distance charges.

i am an insured VZW customer. i was told that i can get a new phone for a discount price. i was thinking that instead of getting the droid 2, i can get a blackberry tour. because when you think about it, it’s a win win situation for both verizon, and I. because i would get the phone i wanted, and they wouldnt have to stock a new droid for more money. does anyone know positively if i would be able to? thanks

Answer by Dave
If you lost your droid and dont have it on hand they wont give you a new one or more than likely wont gi ve you a discount either. They dont trust that you lost your phone, because otherwise people would complain that they lost their phone to get another phone.

Answer by Nathan
If you file an insurance claim, the insurance company will give you a couple options to choose from, since they do not stock the Motorola Droid anymore. The Tour will not be one of those options.
