What is the best camcorder I can buy for world-wide traveling?

I will be traveling around the world to very popular places this whole year, from continent to continent, resort to resort. Places from the Egyptian Pyramids, to the Roman Colosseum, to Antartica, to Madagascar. I have been saving thousands of dollars for this worldwide trip, and I have more than plenty of money, but I want to document everything. I do not want to get a 2k camcorder that they would use to record movies or something, but i also don’t want to buy a 100 dollar phone-sized camera. What is the best quality camcorder, with good battery life, I could get for 300 dollars? I aren’t very familiar when it comes to camcorders, so I don’t really know how expensive the good ones are, but 300 dollars is the most I can spend. I might be able to fit 350 if I need to buy a battery or memory card.

I want to be able to record the quality and beauty of where I am going, so don’t suggest any youtube quality camera please.

JVC Everio GZ-MG670 is a good camcorder but it is non-HD camcorder. It is available for 250$ and it have 80GB memory built in it.

I would consider JVC Everio GZ-HM200 Dual SD High-Def Camcorder
# Dual SD card slot for dual memory continuous recording
# 1920×1080 Full HD recording
# 20x optical zoom with Konica Minolta HD lens
# Laser-touch operation with sub-trigger and zoom; one-touch upload to YouTube

I have a drum set in my room and i’m planning on sound proofing it to record. On a website they give me the option of Egg crate soundproofing foam that has a nrc of .76 Or i can get pyramid foam with .50 nrc. Or wedge foam with .50 which do you think is the best. And which would make it the most sound proof?

Answer by rhythmatist
do you want to “sound proof” your room to keep the neighbors from hearing you or are you trying to cut room ambiance and external noise? Drums are so loud compared to the noise around you that unless the room has an echo. I wouldn’t worry about it. You will never hear any background noise like street noises in the mix. I record drums in my living room all the time and you can’t hear background noises unless the drums stop. For softer instruments or voice you need a room without echo or reverb and no background sounds. Good luck.

Tutorial on how to make the 3d pyramid out of neocube/nanodots/buckyballs/zenmagnets what ever you like to call the worlds greatest puzzle ~~~For purchase of a set of these magnets you can visit any one of the following sites: theneocube.com thenanodots.com zenmagnets.com ~honestly don’t buy buckyballs they aren’t half the quality of the other brands. the best dots would be the zenmagnets as their coating doesnt chip. i chose the neocube as the dots are 4.7mm and slightly smaller then the others which are 5mm in size making them stronger magnetically.
