Android - alternative "homes" Open Home?

Well basically, i just want to know a small about “ahome” and “open home” for android, ive heard about them but am not 100% sure what they are, like what are the differences between the two?
and also if i did download one, what are the advantages/disavantages of having it?, is the process reversible, without removing all my phone data (factory reset), how do i bed in it? and lastly is it worth it? and any other information i would find fascinating/helpful would be very appreciated,

if it makes a difference? my phone is Tmobile G1 (HTC dream)

all help, much appreciated
thanks in enhancement

ahome and open home alternatives can be nice, depending on your needs. They allow you to adjust how many home screens you have, ie slide left 3, slide right 3, etc. Also can rename apps in you drawer, or hide certain apps in the drawer. The huge thing is that it makes it simpler for installing themes on your phone. I used open home for a while, but find that it slowed my phone down to much (MT3G). Have you considered rooting your phone and installing a custom ROM to make your phone perform better, also there are many themes people make that you can sparkle for the g1. I use cyanogenmod, so here are some links to his website and stuff for the g1. Now he is on a Froyo build for the G1. Note though, doing the following stuff can break your phone if you mess it up by ahome or open home can’t. Excellent luck with your G1 whatever you choose.

Honestly ;
i would go with the first one , because me for myself is possibly getting that phone . and you certainly don’t want the G1 , my sister has it . and since there is youtube on it , aim , and its touch screen it dies wicked easily . so i would stay away from that option . it stinks .
and if you were going to get a sidekick ever in the future DON’T get the Sidekick slide , it really sucks . it dies easily and everything . well excellent luck :]
