iPhone vs T-Mobile G2 (HTC Magis) vs Palm Pre?

iPhone vs T-Mobile G2 (HTC Magis) vs Palm Pre?

I’m torn between the three. I can’t choose. The plans I want are all the same price, they all have coverage in my area, and they all have basically the same thing.
I like the iPhone because of the name, the media player, and the fact that I already have a lot of music, movies, and videos already from iTunes. I don’t like it because the OS is very plain and is dreadful at multitasking.
I like the T-Mobile G2/T-Mobile MyTouch 3g/HTC Magic because of Android, openess, compatibility with linux, and it’s excellent at multitasking. I don’t like that it’s not compatible with iTunes, doesn’t have MultiTouch, and doesn’t have the largest application store.
I like the Palm Pre because it has multitouch, has a physical keyboard, and has WebOS, which is brilliant at multitasking. I don’t like that it’s on Sprint because it’s CDMA and I am a frequent International Tourist, and that it’s not compatible with iTunes.
What are your thoughts?

If I were you (and I’m not), I wouldn’t get the iphone. I just despise having something that EVERYONE HAS. Plus, this time next year they will doubtless change the look of the phone and you will be stuck with an hideous rectangular shaped phone!

The Palm Pre looks awesome, I’ve used in a few time and its really a nice phone. It does have a lot of problems (battery too hot, screen discoloration, phone resetting when the keyboard is slid back into house) that many first gen phones have. Plus, the fact that both Palm and Sprint are low on cash worries me and makes me wonder whether or not the Pre will get continued support for the next couple being if they don’t sell enough units.

Finally, that brings me to the G2 (or whatever the phone is called). If it is the same phone as the Magic (with the 5 megapixel camera instead), then I would get it. We don’t know enough about it now, but it looks fantastic and there are TONS of apps available for download. The lack of a standard headphone jack is a downer, but we havent yet found out the final specs (should know by next week according Engadget.com)

As of June 18th, I would get the G2. Then the Palm Pre. Then the iphone.

once again it depends on what you are going to use it for. the iPhone is an incredible platform (one of the best smatphones in my opinion), but the conundrum most ppl find with it is that they cannot run application that they ran previously on windows/symbian based phones. but there are hundreds fo apps for the iphone both from apple and 3rd parties. no phone (yet) has matched the smoothness and touch screen ease of an iPhone.

I’ve answered this question before so I just copy and pasted lol

MyTouch 3g all the way. iPhone might have multi touch, but MyTouch has Multi Task. That means texting/emailing while in an app or browsing the web by just pulling down a notification drawer and then pulling it back up when your done.

T-Mobile has less expensive plans and the MyTouch is still new and by the same firware as the G1 so it has lots of upgrading and growing to do. iPhone 2nd generation just came out and I only saw minor adjustments that should have already been included in the 1st generation.
Plus sparkle player is coming to the Android platform and it will not be coming to the iPhone.

Also I found the apps on the MyTouch are better than iPhone’s apps. It seems anyone can make a a waste of time iPhone app and slap a .99 cent price on it. The Android promote has excellent apps(even a metal detector that really works and an app to edit your own mp3s into a ringtone, both of these are free, try to find excellent working free apps on the iPhone)

The MyTouch really is 100% you.(lol signal like I work for T-Mobile) I found the keyboard to be a small too unsensative for me, so you know what I did? I went and found another free keyboard with customs skins that was free and downloaded it straight from my phone. There’s also free apps to apply skins to the whole phone.

I know everywhere I’m coming from here I have had the MyTouch for 4 days and an ipod touch which I updated the firmware to the iPod’s 2nd gen for a while also.
