By “without any software” do you mean unlocked? As in using it with a SIM card and not tied down to a single telephone network and calling/data plans?

If so, it’s usually between $ 500-$ 600 (depending where you go).

In blogs people are guestimating a price of $ 199. Do they mean that that will be the final price after using $ 150 credit of upgrading phone money?

Yes, I believe that the price is going to be $ 299.99 with a $ 100.00 rebate. After rebate price is $ 199.99 with a new activation or 2 year upgrade. Sprint is now offering pre-sales to Premier customer who qualify.
