if the app is on google android OS , for free music does it make it legal?

most smart phones on googles OS Android have free apps to download music. Now if its illegal why do they have these free apps on android market. Does this make it legal that a giant Industry like google is allowing apps like this on their market.

Are you sure they’re not file sharing apps, rather than stand alone music downloading apps? If it’s file sharing, then yes I would assume that it’s illegal to use it to download music.

But since it’s been *authorised* by Google, I don’t see why it should be a problem.

I am going to be out of town for Christmas and I want to surprise my girlfriend by driving back home. I am interested in an application that will post my GPS location and path online, so that I can map them on my web server for her to see.

I looked but I can’t find any application that seems to have this functionality.
