Is their a competition between Apple and Google?

Google is doing the android and tablets and apple is doing I pad 2 & I phone and additional things. Is their a competition between them?

I’m looking at buying the HTC desire but I have a couple of questions:

When using google maps, does the dot showing your current place go as you go. For example, if you were on maps and drove into town, would the dot go like an arrow would on a sat-nav.

Yes it does. Also, it can use the Google Navigator application that gives you turn by turn directions.

It works just like a $ 100 sat nav.
