Can you download apps on the Android phone without a plan?

If I have the Android and I want to use it not like a phone but as an iTouch, and I want to know- can I still use it to download apps & use WiFi? Please answer only if you are experienced, and quick, as I have to make my choice before tomorrow.

no because they send it to your phone.

Yes you can download apps to your phone without a plot. You will have to search harder, but there are websites out there that allow you download the app to your computer. Then with a USB cable connected from your computer to your phone, you copy the files to your cell phone and install them. Simple as that.

Check on youtube.com. www.4shared.com is one site you can download to your PC. Just search for files that have a .apk at the end.

I am at the end of my contract with AT&T right now, been thinking of switching to Verizon, but what I am looking at more than anything is the best Android phone available or upcoming and I want to see your suggestions and opinions.

I like the Droid line. Droid 2 and Droid X are awesome phones. You wont regret it.

Answer by Christian Serrano
I would suggest the Droid X this phone has everything you need from a large 4.3 WVGA show to 24 GB of memory. Its an incredible phone Its a touchscreen but with its large show texting and everything else shouldn’t be a conundrum. It has an 8 Mega-pixel camera with HD 720p record capture, internet and wi-fi capabilities, Bluetooth, navigation, I mean what else can u question for in a phone? Its a fantastic phone and will run u at about $ 200 but there are additional fantastic Android phones available as well.
