What is Google Android? What's so good about it?

It’s an operating system for smartphones. It’s open source as well and, due to that fact, it’s simpler to customize for different devices and more inviting for developers to write software for it than additional phone operating systems might be.

From a user’s perspective, one of the more fascinating features is the ability to swap out what software performs certain functions (like viewing images, reading email, etc.) for something that you might like better without harming the way that the system works collectively as a whole.

Okay I bought a Android 2.1 tablet and it was new out of box.. The tablet uses a resistive touch screen.

Most high end tablets and smart phones use capacitive touch screens.

Resistive touch screens are more accurate, but require a lot of difficulty and don’t support multi-touch. If you have to “jab” at the screen with your fiddle with or a stylus, that is pretty typical of inexpensive resistive touch screens. There’s not much you can do about it.

Capacitive touch screens are much more user friendly, since they require small to no difficulty, and are accurate enough for common tasks, such as persons found in tablets and smart phones. They also support multi-touch, which enables functions like pinch-to-zoom.
