How do I save photos from my iPhone to my computer?

It’s a 32G iPhone, software 4.0.2

I need to post this embarrassing pic of my friend on facebook, and also have a copy of this on my computer. I need help, step by step instructions on how to save my photos from iPhone to computer.

I would suggest reading the friendly manual, since I’m sure it explains all this in detail. I thought syncing with a computer was done with iTunes?

I split up with my GF last week, and I have photos I want to delete on my iPhone. The thing is my iPhone is synced to her computer.
