When is Google's Android OS being released???

I know that the Android SDK is out and available for downloading, so u can develop for Android, but when is the actual Android OS source code being released?

Right now it’s being rumored the OS will be used for the phone HTC Dream and a few other coming the end of this year. So hopefully the end of this year it should be available for all of us.
