It’s the HTC Tattoo if you’re in additional countries, if you’re in the States, it’s the Verizon Droid Eris.

If you are in the market to a new cell phone, no matter what make and what cell phone provider, you need to check out this site, http://www.cellular-blowout.com/ You would not judge the choice of unlocked cell phones and cell phone accessories they have. After my Blackberry broke and without the insurance, I was able to pick up a groundbreaking new Blackberry for a fraction of the cost at that site, compared to the price my cell phone provider was going to charge me. I’ve bookmarked the site since and found they have fantastic choice of bluetooth accessories and additional cell phone cases, you find the site to be of fantastic use for you on your hunt for a cheap phone as well as future accessories for it. Hope this helps!

recently saw a revelation of the new android system and I was impressed!

Particularly the 2 version which has navigation combined with Google maps-only business I can’t map out and which is surprisingly not mentioned on any reviews. Normally one would have to be on the Internet to see Google maps, but of course when navigating this is not really practical as often Internet access may not be available.

So does this Android/Google maps navigation work just by accessing satellite like a GPS or does one have to be connected to the Internet as well to see the proper Google maps?

Another business I will not be using a contract but want to use it with my ancient Sim card so probably won’t use 3G just normal phone, so I imagine the Google maps navigation will not work with ordinary pay as you go Sim card?

Answer by A
It uses the GPS satellites to get the phones place and the data connection over the internet for the maps. It is certainly calculated with the assumption that you will have a data plot emotionally involved to your sim card.

But most android phones also have wifi and the application saves the directions and maps it needs in case you lose phone coverage during the trip. So as long as you set the route you want to take somewhere with wifi coverage (e.g. at home) and don’t go off route it should in theory work without a cell network data link.
