How can I get a iphone of verizon network?

I have been wanting to get an iphone for a while, but I don’t want to exchange networks. I am on verizon right now, and I have read that in Canada and Europe you can get your iphone and use it on any network your on. I was wondering if I ordered a iphone from say Canada and wanted to use in on verizon would I be able to do that? If I can’t is there anyway to get a iphone and be on my verizon network?

iPhones use the GSM standard. Sprint and Verizon use the CDMA standard. So no. But, you can get a phone that is better than the iPhone on Verizon’s network, namely the Droid family.

iPhone should be coming out for Verizon around Christmas time… wait until then.

Otherwise their networks are incompatible and jail breaking will not work.

When they said “you can get your iphone and use it on any network your on” they obviously meant GSM networks since the iPhone is a GSM phone. The iPhone is offered factory unlocked in Canada, which is why they may maybe say that. Verizon is a CDMA network therefore, even if the iPhone was unlocked, it would never work on Verizon.

No iPhone ever made will be able to work on Verizon.

There are rumors but of Verizon getting the iPhone by January, so you may maybe place your hopes on that.

i have the iPhone data plot which includes an additional payment of $ 30 a month, but i do not have my iPhone anymore. I am wanting to buy an iPhone online but it requires a data plot hold also. how do i buy an iPhone online and simply place my sim card in it?

You NEED a data plot with ANY smartphone. They all transfer data constantly in the social class to get the latest updates on email, weather, etc. If you don’t want a data plot, you don’t want an iPhone, trust me on that. Without data, you’d be paying overage charges just for having the damn business on. Without that social class data, you just have an iPod. iPods are cheaper than iPhones.

If you just need a replacement, tell the idiots at the store you need a replacement. They won’t charge you an additional $ 30 if you are already paying it. But, they won’t give you any discounts on the phone unless you are due for an upgrade.

You can try to get it cheaper on eBay, craigslist, etc. Excellent luck with that…

Honestly, having an iPhone without a data plot is like having a Mercedes without gas. Yeah it looks cool, but you can’t do anything with it but look at it and sit in it (in the phone’s case, text on it).
